I like collecting as well, but if someone is just trying to hunt it down so they can see the bonus disc it's not worth doing. Also, you hunted down a box set and haven't watched it? That's kind of a waste isn't it?

Re: Sleepaway Camp recall box - buy?

This thread reminded me that I used to own this boxset like 5 years ago. Totally forgot about it until now. I'll have to pick it up again as I remember the movies being pretty good.

And I do remember mine having that bonus disc. I think I watched 5 minutes of it and threw it back in the sleeve for good.

Like digging up a time capsule ....
The 4th disc is ass for sure.Whats bad is it was never even made into a movie. That whole 'franchise' plagued with issues.

I still have 2 'Red Cross' sets with 4th disc unopened.
It would have been nice to get the first movie uncut in the package though to make up for that shit 'exclusive' 4th disc.

If I lose this eBay auction (although it doesn't look like I will) I'd be happy to take one of those off your hands.

It's too bad Anchor Bay didn't see fit to do an uncut Special Edition to go alongside that DTV sequel that Gizmo says was awful.

It's beyond awful ...
I'm all for cheap horror but this looked like it was done by film students who probably would have received an F

I'd be glad to help you out if you don't win.

Well, my unopened box set has a couple of thousand unopened movie "friends" so it doesn't feel that alone. And I've seen the trilogy before, so I'm in no hurry to watch it again.

Re: Sleepaway Camp recall box - buy?

I guess that's a question for another thread, but why have movies you haven't opened and don't plan on watching?

1. Doesn't it seem like a waste of money?
2. Aren't you robbing someone who DOES want to watch it of owning a copy?

I mean I'm a collector, I have about 3k DVDs (and probably another 4k movies on DVD-R, Laserdisc, etc), but I intend on watching everything I have (at least when I bought it I did) and watch as much as I can, I definetely don't have any I haven't even opened.

1. i don't think it is a matter of not opening it, i think it is a matter of not getting around to it yet. mine are opened, but i have yet to get to watching a couple hundred because of time, energy, etc..
2. i don't think anyone is sitting at home saying "Damn that SPRBD for not opening his/her "Sleepaway Camp" recalled box set. Damn him/her all to hell!!!"

I own this recalled set. I never opened it because I was planning on re-selling it, I just never got around to doing it.

Yeah, it's just a matter of not getting to most of them yet. I'm not trying to keep any of my discs in MITB condition, or anything like that. I just buy significantly faster than I watch.

Re: Sleepaway Camp recall box - buy?

Another "collector" raises his hand. I think I've opened it, but have not watched any of the films. Keep meaning to do it one of these Octobers for our challenge, but never get around to it.

Like others just said, I never but a DVD planning to never watch it, but just buy (and rent, and DVR/record) more movies that I can watch.
