The recalled version has not been on shelves for a few years now. I purchased the set the day it became available on DVD and have watched it atleast once a year since. The 4th disc is rather meh...

Funny to see my response from 4/4/06 about the new movie due out later that year...now 2+ years later and it still has yet to be distributed.

Yes, the week it was released. One of my top blind buys ever, BTW.

That's an understatement. Why they call it "part 4" is beyond me ...especially considering it's roughly 30 minutes and has little to no sound. I have no desire to revisit it again, but it was a nice little extra if just for the curiosity factor.

Supposedly it's being distributed by Magnolia Pictures and releases on DVD October 14:

IIRC, the 4th disc is just some girl running through the forest for 30 minutes. Pretty crappy bonus disc.

That film looks bad. Where is Angela? Why is donkeylips in the film?

I guess they were trying to break away from Angela and kind of start anew. Looks pretty bad though. Extremely. I mean, the charms of the original were that they were also kinda bad but uh, this looks terrible.

I thought Felissa Rose was going to be in this one (hence the reason why the film for made in the first place).

the trailer is really disappointing. Where are Felissa Rose and Jonathan Tiersten? both of them were confirmed to be in that

I was going to say that too. I read she was supposed to be in it. It better not be some crappy cameo.

Although it kind of looks like they may have gone back to the original location for the new one.

EDIT: I know this means little, but Felissa Rose is still listed on imdb as being in the film.

you can briefly spot Paul DeAngelo (Ronnie) and Jonathan Tiersten (Ricky) in the trailer around 2:08-2:09, Tiersten has frosted blonde hair and DeAngelo really hasn't changed much since 1983.

Felissa is in it because she made a big stink about it on her MySpace page. Ronnie looks the same and I couldn't spot Ricky. Looks to have some pretty bad dialog and action...but I'll purchase it.

Maybe the trailer is trying to mislead us?

Ricky is the guy with the short blonde hair standing next to Ronnie. The only reason I recognized him is because I've seen recent pictures of him and that's the look he sports now, plus he still looks pretty young

I think its definitely a GO now with more info in this thread:

Return To SleepAway Camp Thread

And looks like Isaac Haye's death might pull off ala Heath Ledger did for Darknight on this upcoming straight to DVD release.

Re: Sleepaway Camp recall box - buy?

So, I guess I'm nabbing a Red Cross version on Half.com. What are the odds that the Red Cross version also has the bonus disc, because I'd like both...

I can send you a copy if you like. Its really a POS. Its just some girl running through the forest for 20 minutes.

Well, I found one that I bid on at $22/$3 shipping that comes in both the red cross box and has the bonus disc, so if I don't win that, I'll settle for a different one and take you up on that. But I'm a completist, even if it sucks or I never watch it, I still have to have it because it will irritate me knowing it's out there.

Isn't she sitting on the dock in a bikini for a bit of the footage, too? I seem to remember that for some strange reason. Gizmo, will you put on a bikini when you run through the forest?

Whatever happened to the joy of collecting. As soon as it was announced that the Red Cross set was getting pulled, I had to get a copy (with bonus disc). That was a few years back. I haven't watched any of the discs, but I am happy owning them.

Watch them! Great trilogy. Ignore the recent DTV flick though....what a load of crap.
