Either the double or wait for the extended edition.

starving dvder 04-01-06 06:33 AM

double

Maryang Palad 04-01-06 01:09 PM

Single disc for me. I don't think its worth $10 for the second disc.

jake_spade 04-01-06 04:13 PM

Suncoast Exclusive (The one with Narnia Map )

Squirrel God 04-01-06 07:38 PM

Neither.

I'm holding out for the extended version.

Dr. DVD 04-01-06 07:38 PM

2 Disc. Only saw it once in the theater at the midnight show, and haven't seen it since. Wanted to catch it again, but never got around to it.

Just Lurking 04-01-06 08:20 PM

Double

I will even double dip for an EE.

DEGRASSIFAN1980 04-01-06 10:34 PM

the amazon uk exclusive 2 disk version for me!

shadow panther 04-01-06 11:03 PM

narnia map?

got a pic?

teamwinfan 04-02-06 12:23 AM

I'm buying neither.. I want to see it, but I am sure some christian groups are going to be using sales figures to show "Christian buying power" like they did with the ticket sales, despite the fact I'm sure a good portion of the people that saw it, or will but the DVD are non-Christian. I will exercise my "atheist buying power", and watch someone else's copy.

RocShemp 04-03-06 03:32 PM

I want the two disc set and I will get the extended cut if one is ever released.

I'm picking this up at Suncoast tommorrow but I didn't know there was an exclusive version with a Narnia map. Didn't even see that in their website.

Nah, just buy PLANET OF THE APES [1968], a non-theistic movie if ever there was one, at the same time and you'll cancel out the Christian sales factor.

ianholm 04-03-06 04:16 PM

Double for me

EddieN 04-04-06 08:22 AM

Neither. Saw it in the theater and I wanted to like it. Didn't hate it I was just...underwhelmed, I guess.

The Void 04-04-06 08:48 AM

Double

Billyspunk 04-04-06 08:55 AM

same here, I'm gonna wait awhile until DigitalBits hears anything new about the extended cut.

For those that think $10 for the extra disc is too much, are you aware of what's on it?

A couple of paragraphs from IGN: (Full Breakdown of Each Feature)

===================================================
Packaging and Extras
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe comes on two-discs in a latch Amaray case, which itself is contained in a handsome cardboard case. There are three inserts, two beautiful pieces of concept art and a foldout map detailing the features on the set.

* Commentary: Director Andrew Adamson and Narnia kids
* Commentary: Andrew Adamson, producer Mark Johnson, and production designer Roger Ford.
* Featurette: Bloopers
* Featurette: Discover Narnia Fun Facts
* Feature: Chronicles of a Director
* Feature: The Children's Magical Journey
* Featurette: From One Man's Mind
* Feature: Cinematic Storytellers
* Feature: Creating Creatures
* Feature: Anatomy of a Scene: The Melting River
* Feature: Creatures of the World
* Feature: Explore Narnia
* Feature: Legends in Time

When I say that the second disc is packed with "features," I'm not kidding. Some of these making-of documentaries last longer than a half-hour. They're in-depth, footage-filled features that not only give a little background on the movie, they make you feel like you were there while they were making it.

Obviously The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is packed. While not every feature is gold, almost all of them are fun and interesting. The features are incredibly beautiful, with amazing production values. There's nothing thrown-together here, and both fans of Narnia and younger viewers will love this set. After watching these features and listening to these commentaries, I have a far better understanding of the film than I thought I could ever have.
===================================================

So it sounds like the features run longer than the film itself, along the lines of the LOTR: Extended sets. This is why with this in depth of a set, I am doubting a bigger set will see the light of day anytime soon.

I'm getting the single. I really enjoyed this movie, wouldn't mind the 2 disc-er, but I am limited on money and would really like to pinch some penny's so I can surprise my wife with Dawson's Creek Season 6. It's her favorite show and she can't afford to buy it for herself this week.

JOE29 04-04-06 02:57 PM

Well I ended up getting the single disc, couldn't justify paying $26 for the extra disc, so I bought the single disc and threw in Guns of the Navarone and ended up paying the same amount for 2 movies instead of 1.

darkside 04-04-06 06:08 PM

My wife wants this one as always we will be suckers and by the two disc.

mike01 04-04-06 07:17 PM

Well, I relunctantly picked up the single disc, the 2 disk package was great and the features looked good but I was sucked into the BB pre order and I could see spending another 10 for the disk, I agree with most about the new pricing but I never was one to watch extras but I always bought the super duper edition until now, I guess Ive turned over a new leaf. Now if we could get everyone on the same page maybe the studio's would relize they priced the 2 disc too high and drop them 5-6 dollars!!

I don't think it worked. Narnia sold 4 million units in the first day of release.

I'm still on the fence but leaning towards the 2 disc.

JediMindTricks 04-07-06 04:18 PM

any updates/news on the extended edition?

would have gotten the 2 disc, but i'm holding out in case there will be one...

If you have a Tower Records store near you and answered a very short survey at Tower.com you can get the 2disc for $17.99.

Thats how I justify mine and now enjoyed having the Narnia 2disc Collectors Edition for $17.99
