Wasn't American Psycho released theatrically in 2000?

Godzilla. The store I bought my HT gear from lent me a couple of DVD's to test some speakers. This was back in 1998 I believe.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. It was in the first batch of Warner titles released in 1997. I still have that version; never upgraded.

Thomas Crown Affair at my parents house.
First DVD I bought was End of Days at Blockbuster for $5.00
Those were the days when Blockbuster was actually a great place to buy used DVD's at cheap prices. I remember they used to have 3 for 15 or 3 for 20 almost regularly.

I believe mine was From Dusk Til Dawn. I remember renting it soon after we got a computer with a DVD-ROM, back in 98 I believe. It was one of the few DVDs Hollywood Video had at the time on the one, maybe two spinner racks of DVDs that they had

Like so many others, my first owned / watched DVD was The Matrix. I was celebrating moving from a $6/hr job (after 2 years) to one with a starting pay of $12.25/hr. I bought my first DVD player and The Matrix, which had just come out that week.

Alien Ressurection . I remember it was released on DVD and VHS the same day but the VHS version was $120 for rental, not the @14.99 sell through which came six months later. Bought it and a Sony player at the same time. Spring of '98.

Either Fight Club or The Matrix - probably Fight Club, but can't remember since both were on the same day.

My first dvds were all anime. The first one I bought was Dragonball: The Saga of Goku in, I think, late 2000 after I preordered my PS2, which didn't arrive untill march of '01. The next 2 dvds I bought were Street Fighter 2: The Movie and Vampire Hunter D, both in april '01 from animenation.com.

It was either Tomorrow Never Dies or T2 back in 98.

On a friends DVD player. Prompted me to get my own.

Same here, except my brother's computer.

I got a player in 12/1999, and my first movie (I think) was Saving Private Ryan. It was impressive through my Dolby Surround setup, but I got a Dolby Digital Amplifier 6 months later and experienced it in 5.1! (DTS version came later and I still haven't picked it up.)

Army of Darkness: Director's Cut LE

I actually bought it several months before I got my first DVD player for Christmas 2000 because I was afraid that it wouldn't be available anymore by the time I got one. I was sorta right and sorta wrong on that assumption.
