You laugh, but for well over a year it seemed like between Fox and TBS re-running Seinfeld, I never saw Soup Nazi. So I grabbed it when I saw it.

Same goes for the Simpsons' visit to NYC. I hardly ever see that in syndication, so when it finally aired I decided I'd keep it "just in case".

Seinfeld airs nightly in DFW. Once a night M-F and 1 hour on Sunday night.

And I can hardly wait for the rest of the seasons to be released - hopefully they will be all released by end of year. I am definitely looking forward to that.

And yes, the "Soup Nazi" eps were some of the best.

Well I assumed they would follow the same pattern as last year but obviously that is not going to happen. It would make sense that they are holding onto season 7 for the final release because I'm sure the soup nazi episode will be featured prominently in the advertising.

He was only in one episode, discounting the finale.

Maybe they came up with some cool gimmick to include in a gift set and are holding it for the fall and releasing 9 solo. 9 has it's own built in marketing being the finale season, with the "controversial" finale. So thinking more about it 7&8 packaged together seems more likely.

I'm dying to know as well, I checked all the retail dealers on the net and couldn't find it listed anywhere.

Sit tight and keep checking tvshowsondvd.com for news. They'll find out soon enough.

I think that this is what everyone is getting a bit tired of. You figure that something would have at least been mentioned about a possible upcoming release. At this point I think that Sony is afraid to let the last few seasons go.

Given that from what I've heard these releases are one of the biggest cash cow's for Sony, I wouldn't be surprised if they released the last three seasons during the final quarter to offset the losses on the cost of the PS3.

It's crazy to think that Sony will have losses on the PS3 when the retail price is 500 and 600 dollars per unit.

Not so crazy if you read about the architecture and early production problems already.

Yep, I believe Sony is actually selling at a LOSS with those prices, due to the inclusion of the Blu-ray drive.

wasn't x-box originally sold at a loss? it's not too farfetched, i'd imagine that a good chunk of the console manfuracturers planned profits are in the games.

but back to topic, yea where is my season 7 8 and 9.

I think that most, if not all, consoles are intially sold at a loss to build market penetration.

I think that we will see seasons 7 and 8 marketed in the fall together. We may even see season 9. If 9 does not come out then, I think Sony will hold it until the 2007 holiday season. Season 4 did not sell nearly as well as any of the other seasons having been released in May of 2005.

That would make sense. It would be cool to see a Soup Nazi themed gift set.

Just a bump to see if anyone has heard anything new about more Seinfeld sets. If seasons 7 and 8 are coming in November, as the most recent TVshowsonDVD story suggested, then we should be getting an annoucement very soon. . .

Sony made last year's official Seinfeld announcement 10 weeks and 1 day before release date. Since the 5 & 6 box set was out on November 22 and the 1, 2 & 3 box set was out on November 23 I would hope that a 7 & 8 box set would be out by November 21, and which would mean the official announcement should come on September 10 provided that November 21 is the release date and they go by the same press-release schedule.

Season 7 has been announced for a November 20, 2006 release date in the UK. I would presume there might be some correlation for that in Region 1, so we may be getting it here on the 21st or so (given the traditional Tuesday release date for US merchants).

Interesting to note that ONLY season 7 has been announced for November release in R2. That may mean that seasons 8 and 9 will also be released later, either separately or together.

Sucks that it's only S7.
Oh well, at least it's something (well, until the official release date that is).
