The security labels and the card on the back came right off for me. Not like last time. Last time I spent 30 minutes per case scrubbing with Goo-Gone to get that sticky stuff off.

I was referring to the security stickers. Those left a hell of a mess. I had no problem with the cardboard.

Look what Maltin said:

Hi... thanks for all your kind words. I cannot tell you how frustrated--or heartbroken--I am that the Tiki Room footage is cut from the Tenth Anniversary Show. I was promised an uncut version, and that's one reason I felt it was worth including again. I also felt that this was a crucial show in any salute to Walt, and I've heard from a number of people who were upset that the original Disneyland USA DVD set has gone out of print.

But the best laid plans, as they say...

I don't know the future of the Treasures series right now. I wish the folks at Disney were as devoted to keeping their heritage alive as their fans.
all the best, Leonard Maltin

I see. I didn't know about that problem. The security stickers on the new releases came right off for me, and they left no residue at all. All four of the tins are completely clean.

a couple of guys at HTF are complaining about crooked framing on the new SIlly Symphonies disc. Anybody have screen grabs to show what they mean. I have yet to pick these disc up.

They are windowboxed, but I haven't watched one that I would call crooked.

One of the cartoons (I forget which) on disc 1 has a scene where a tree abruptly stops
prior to the top of the screen (they only drew the section of it that would appear in the
frame). Perhaps this was what they were referring to?

EDITED FOR DVD - When the DVD version of the 10th Anniversary Show is compared to previous broadcast airings, it appears that the Enchanted Tiki Room sequence has been shortened. The original sequence ran a total of 10:46, but the DVD version clocks in at only 4:51, meaning that 5:55 has been removed. The removals include many complete songs from the show.

First of all 'The Night Before Christmas' is unfortunately edited. The Amos n Andy mammy part has been snipped out.

Also when you watch the bonus feature when they discuss 'Goddess of Spring' the picture that appears is glorious restored! So a restored print of this short exists! So why provide an older duller grainier one as the actual cartoon?

from ultimate disney

In an effort to present the classic cartoons contained on MORE SILLY SYMPHONIES as originally intended, Walt Disney Studio recently recreated the original title cards that were to appear at the start of each film. Due to a production error, these restored cards were inadvertently not included on this new DVD collection. We sincerely apologize for this mistake, and are currently working to rectify the issue. Please check back for an update as to when the replacement discs will be ready. We anticipate them sometime in early March.
If you have purchased MORE SILLY SYMPHONIES and would like to have them replaced with the corrected DVDs, call 1-800-723-4763 (U.S.)/1-888-877-2843 (Canada). Please note, you will receive replacement discs, not replacement packaging. Please hold on to your current packaging.
Again, we apologize for the error and any inconvenience it may have caused. Ultimately, we hope you will enjoy these classic Walt Disney Treasures.
