Those are some great photos! I can't wait until the set is released.
A Blu-ray set would have been perfect but at this point, just having it on DVD is a minor miracle.

Re: The Wonder Years is in the works!
I haven't seen the show in years (probably the last time it aired on TNN before it rebranded to SpikeTV). Always a favorite in my house, but my memory of the show is very fuzzy. The series finale aired when I was seven, but I distinctly remember tuning in to see if Kevin and Winnie ended up together.
I'm pretty much done buying DVDs, but I might make an exception for this down the line. The episodes are still streaming on Netflix (though the video masters look medicore), so I'll try to revist the show before making a decision. Hopefully, Time-Life take the time to do a decent remastering.

Re: The Wonder Years is in the works!
This past February we brought you the press release from StarVista/Time-Life, announcing that the Fall 2014 timeframe would see a long-awaited release of The Wonder Years - The Complete Series on DVD. We followed with updates about how the studio was working to include as much of the original music as possible (unlike other ways the show has been available so far), and how the disc count on this DVD set would be at least twenty discs, and likely more as they worked on bonus materials.
The studio has indeed been laboring hard on the extras for this set, including a cast reunion with Fred Savage, Danica McKellar, Josh Saviano, Olivia d'Abo, Jason Hervey, Dan Lauria and Alley Mills (check out the group shot in the Arnolds' kitchen, displayed at the Time-Life button link below!). So we're pleased to pass on this morning that The Wonder Years - The Complete Series will be a 26-DVD set, with over 15 hours worth of extras! And that it will all come in a VERY special collectible package that passionate fans of the show can adore. We're still waiting on a specific release date, and pricing, but right now we've got our first look at the package art, and a first description of its contents. Check it out, in the studio's own words:
Packaging details have finally been revealed...
Here's a first look at "The Wonder Years" Complete Series limited-edition metal locker - just like those featured at Kennedy Junior High!
The locker will feature a replica yearbook with signatures from cast members, behind-the-scenes photos and classic show memorabilia.
Also included are two notebooks like those carried by Kevin and Winnie, each featuring detailed episode information, production photos, all 115 episodes plus over 15 hours of bonus features on 26 DVDs. You'll even get custom "Wonder Years" magnets to decorate your locker!

I wish it was being released on Blu-ray too, but the fact that we're getting this at all after all these years is a small miracle in the world of home video. One of my most wanted shows for a while now; day one purchase.

$300-$500 I would guess. And if that is really metal, that's going to be relatively expensive to ship.
Clearly not intended for a causal fan of the show and likely to price-out many hardcore fans too.
Just like China Beach and Six Million $ Man, cheap season sets will follow in a year or so.

Holy shit. A little large, no? Where is this supposed to fit on my shelf?

I guess I'll wait for the non-locker less expensive version.

What's the most that you guys are willing to/can afford to spend on this? Is the packaging a problem too?
The last thing I bought from Time Life was the Six Million Dollar Man complete series and I spent $179 on that.
I would prefer it be around $150-175, but I might be willing to go up to $200, but that's it.

I'm more troubled by the packaging. I think it's a nifty, inventive, enchanting package with the locker and notebooks, but, although I live in a large house, I just can't justify setting aside so much space for DVDs of a TV show. We'll see.

Re: The Wonder Years is in the works!
So the discs are going to probably sit in pockets on replica pages in the notebooks? If so I won't bother. Look at the Charmed reviews or just about any DVD set where the discs are in pockets, the discs will be scratched and/or covered in glue.
