Welp, the first review is up, and WOAH, it's horrible. There's lots of problems listed, but the killer is that it's not OAR and there's NO extras, nothing. Looks like another hack job by Paramount, just to cash on Basic Instinct 2's release date.
I've picked up guilty pleasures with no extras before, like Robot Jox.... but no OAR, no sale!

There are so many extras that they could have added...

I am picking this up anyway, it will make a good VHS upgrade obviously, also I can't read these reviews coming in (see DVDtown), they are way to painful, tearing the film to death. I don't care what the critics say about Sliver, I love this film.
I see nothing has changed with the critics and this.

Man this sucks about the aspect ratio, but I'll still pick it up since I've never seen the unrated one and it'll probably be another 10 years before it comes out on blu-ray.

No screenshots for me, I still own this on VHS and would love to happily toss it in the garbage. I don't care about the aspect ratio being off, if you owned this on VHS and have to watch this in P&S all the time, it's so easy to not care about proper AR.
Anything but that stinkin VHS tape for me.

I wouldn't have expected a Phillip Noyce audio commentary anyways since he didn't do one for the Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger Special Editions that were released a couple of years ago.
At least Paramount could have dug into their vaults and dug up an EPK for this movie. Also, Stone has a conversation feature on the new Basic Instinct DVD, was she too busy to do something for this movie?

There was a lot of talk about William Baldwin doing full nudity, which never made the film.
The ending was re-written from the script/ changed from the book to throw off readers/ possibly re-done after test screenings... it's hard to know what exactly happened there. I find it hard to believe whatever a test audience saw could have been worse, so I think it's debatable if there's an alternate ending available.

Assuming that screencap was ripped straight from the DVD with no cropping, by my measurement it's 2.08:1.
According to IMDb, the movie was shot with Panavision anamorphic lenses, which if correct would mean that the DVD is cropped, not open-matte.
