Or a buck and ten cents if you buy it at BB and pricematch CC. and you'll get the free comic too.

Sweet! Not even anything really tiny like production notes, filmographies, or different trailers?

Unless you happen to be in Canada, which I believe he is, in which case there is no CC and Best Buy doesn't offer a free comic exclusive.

They never will. They just don't care. What's worse is sometimes they'll print the artwork double-sided. Now, you'd think they'd have English and French exclusively on their own sides, right? WRONG! What they do is they put English-French one one side, and French-English on the other! I mean, WTF??!

I steadfastly REFUSE to buy ANY bilingual packaging. Any title that pulls that crap (and they're even doing it with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD titles, as well) gets mail ordered from the States. It means I gotta pay more and wait patiently for delivery, but it's worth avoiding the headache. It's ugly, it's arrogant and it's offensive.

I guess we're lucky that they haven't marketed CDs and books with bilingual covers, huh?

I've always wondered why that has never happened. I mean pretty much everything else we buy in Canada is in bilingual packaging.

Shut up about the lack of bilingual shit on CDs!
Don't give anyone any ideas!

Universal got this one right. Bravo to them.

Sometimes Canadian-made DVD versions lose extras and even image quality because of French add-ons, so it's more than just a packaging issue...it's far worse.

I've love to take a look at a "bilingual" book. Every other line is in French!

Got mine in the mail today from Amazon -- not bad since I used free shipping (also bought RoboCop) -- and I'm not wild about the packaging but it's OK.

Love the packaging...could give or take the extras other than the commentary.

But honestly, it was the packaging that got me. I'm almost embarrassed to say it. I wasn't even planning to get it, but I was wandering around Best Buy, saw the packaging and made an impulse buy.

Yeah, I think the packaging is pretty cool looking. It's just an overweight Ten Commandments...

why oh why couldn't they make this set accessible by letting you change between audio tracks during the movie??????

you have to use the main menu in order to change to commentaries and not only that, but if you want to go back to DTS you have to play from the beginning unless use scene selection. so annoying and makes the set less enjoyable now.

I really like the packaging, except the spine is a little weird looking on the shelf. I do like the disc art, but part of me wonders why a standard digipack wouldn't have sufficed.

I've noticed in a few retailers that this title has largely disappeared from shelves. Seems like a hot seller.

Glad I got mine on release day.

They have bilingual books; it's typically every other page is in the other language.

Does anyone feel this edition is worth owning over the HD-DVD edition?

If you care about the vido/audio quality, I would buy the HD DVD version. If the extras are very important, you could buy the HD DVD import which has a couple of extras not found in the North American release. These still do not compare to the additional extras found on the new CE.

Personally, I don't like making choices like this, so I have both.

It would help if you see Firefly first, but the movie definitely can stand on its own. I just bought myself Serenity Collectors edition... can't wait!
