Memorabilia is what makes a home theater, or a home for that matter. I'm 31 and I think I've got more toys now than I did as a kid. I need to get some pics of my HT up, and show off some of my goodies.

I was really looking forward to getting the Ape Head, but the wife has said no. Maybe I'll drag out some more Star Wars figures...

Yeah, I'm with you on the no ape-head front. I really think it's spectacular, but with limited space, I can't be re-arranging everything just to fit some giant ape-head that's going to scare the bejesus out of me at night time.

I guess if you want anamorphic sequels, it's boxset or nothing. I think I'll just get the box set and save lots of money.

All that I would be interested in would be the animated series.

Keep checking eBay. It only came in a boxset with the other films, but some may sell the disc separately. I won the set for $54 w/o the obi a little over 3 years ago. Also, Fox Movie Channel ran the extended version, and announced it as such on top of that, a couple times in 2003 (I think). Maybe when this new set is released they'll show it again.

As mentioned, you might get lucky if you keep checking ebay on a regular basis. I've picked up various Japanese LDs for good prices over the last few years, but you have to check often. On the other hand, I'm surprised how used LDs have virtually disappeared in Japanese stores. I remember going to places selling used videos, etc in Japan about 3 or 4 years ago and seeing great deals on used LDs. Now I can't find any, just DVDs and some VHS. I guess those stores don't even want to buy them anymore. I guess most people in Japan have to unload LDs on Yahoo Japan auctions now (there are probably great deals on LDs there, but most don't sellers there don't deal with international buyers)

Who cares? Half the fun would be searching for them.

OK, more than half.

Count me in for the Ape-Head. I am just excited that maybe now the States will get some boxsets with cool packaging like Japan and the UK have been receiving. (Phantasm Sphere, Hellraiser Cube, Alien Head, I Robot Head, Godzilla Head, etc.) Now that I think about it, there sure are a lot of heads you can purchase.

If they came in a Linda Harrison bust, I'm not really sure it matters.

If they can play the extended cut on Fox cable, you'd think they could put it on the DVD for sure. Why is it so hard for companies to go a couple extra steps to make a truly kick-ass set?

Does anyone know if the individually-released movies will be in keepcases? And if so, will PotA 1 get repackaged in a keepcase also?

I think the films will be in keep cases for the individual and movie only box set...however i don't think the original will get its own re-release...so if you want a keep case for the first movie, buy the movie only box

That's probably what I'll do since I don't have much interest in the TV show or animated series (or the Ape head bust). Does the movie-only box also contain the bonus disc?

Amazon lists the regular box as having 6 discs. Is that counting the remake or the bonus?

Absolutely count me in on this purchase. Always have loved POTA films. Didn't think the re-make was a masterpiece, but definately was not crap either! Never saw the tv series but am looking forward to it, and Love the Monkey bust regardless of $- Bring it on. I agree with some of the other posters that its about time we get some of this cool stuff here in the USA!

I like this set but I don't want the head really. It just won't fit in anywhere in my living room with my current DVD's. Hmmmm...

Has there been a picture yet of how the boxset is store in the head or is it a seperate piece like the matrix collection?
