Region 1 release of "Danton" ever going to happen?

Doe's anyone have ANY news on Wadja's film "Danton" being released on dvd in America?

If it were to be released in region one, I would definitely buy it. This features a great performance by Gérard Depardieu. Who has the rights to this movie? For those in the know and who have an interest in the French Revolution, it is a great movie imho.

But isn't the R2 in an incorrect aspect ratio? I've always heard that the movie was supposed to be 1.66:1, and isn't the R2 1.85:1? (I'd love to be corrected and pick up the R2.)
