Saw 1 & 2 or Saw 1 & 2 Uncut?

Since the Saw DVDs are on sale this week, which versions are better?

I would usually get the uncut versions of a movie, but I remember watching a couple of movies in the past where the theatrical version was alot better than uncut.

So to those that has seen both versions of both films, what do you think?

This has been discussed ad nauseum in this forum. If you were smart enough to do a simple search you would find that there are dozens of threads on the Saw movies detailing every release in every region of the known universe.

Why does everybody on the internet feel like they can be a jerk whenever they want just because they're on the internet? I'm sure you wouldn't reply that way in person.
Why don't you calm down, it's really not that serious. You could've just replied with "Do a search".

I looked through the first 3 pages of this forum, I did a search, and way too many things came up, I didn't really have time to look through all of them, so I made a thread so I can check on replies later.

Relax

Lol. You spent about 3 minutes, gave up and now you want someone else to do the work for you? Seems like you are the one being a jerk.

Go uncut, the changes are minimal at best and only additional gore - the flow of the movies does not change. (and to be fair, you can't search a 3 letter word)

I already did a search and there were tons of discussions about things that had nothing to do with my question, I didn't have alot of time earlier to really look through all of them. I didn't ask anybody to do the search for me, I was just asking those that has seen both versions of the films to share their opinions.

If you have no answers for me, why even reply here? I just asked a simple question, get over it.

Do you know how hard it is to include a common three-letter word like "saw" in a search on this forum and get any meaningful results?

Uncut is the way to go. As stated it does not disrupt the flow of the films. Plus the audio commentary for SAW with Cary Elwes is worth the price alone.

The "SAW" word is not simple to search in this forum. I used to do that but to no avail.

Go get the one sale at Bestbuy, the UNCUT SAW Edition.

Its 2disc and its worth for $3.99, its loaded with special features.

*its the one pictured at the lowest right of the group (the one beside 2 bloodpacks SAW)

As for SAW2

If you go for packaging and exclusive offers its worth if you can get a hold of SAW2 Bestbuy Exclusive (*** Some Bestbuy Stores still carry this exclusive offer: )

I'd go for the uncut Saw 1 at that price. Also having the original audio and color scheme of the film intact is a good reason to get the UR of that film.

Saw 2 I have not seen uncut yet. But I heard the gore additions are extremely brief and not a huge issue. So if you want to get the R rated Saw 2 for the same price. Go right ahead. The uncut Saw 2 can be found or $10 at most Targets now just for your information.

You can't search "saw" in this forum. Instead of typing out a paragraph demonstrating your disgust at the question, you could have provided a one word answer or, even better, not replied at all.

Anyway, back to the OP, I have both uncut versions and think they're great. I've heard there isn't much difference between the cuts of the films, however, so go with the discs with the better special features (which are probably the uncut versions).

Thats also what I would recommend if you didn't have any of the films.

Thank you everybody... that trilogy set looks crazy, I don't know if I could leave that on my shelf at night... haha.

Hey Xage, your collection is nice... I've seen your collection of 300 also. I found your link helpful, thank you.

I actually bought the bloodpack DVD for like $4.99 when the UNCUT version was on sale. It had the same UPC. But when I opened it, the case was all cracked and the DVD was flying all over the place. I had to exchange it for the plain old UNCUT version

I just bought that bloodpack version for $5 off amazon... from a "musicworld"... the description on it sounded good, hopefully it's not damaged or anything.

That bloodpack is probably one of the easiest packages to get completely fucked. I had to look through a lot of them when it came out @ BB just to find one that wasn't cracked. Good luck if you ordered one through the mail. They really should have used a more durable plastic.
