DVD Talk Special Edition
Can anyone verify that it comes with a figure because I haven't heard that anywhere else? Someone on another board has the DVD already and didn't get a figure with it.

The DVD and Figure are both released same day and its a Wal-Mart exclusive. I said I believe it comes with the DVD, it should since its released same day. Maybe some kind of package like Bestbuy did with the RVD figure that came with DVD.

Zeus!
Man, I remember seeing No Holds Barred in the theaters and by the end of the movie, the entire audience was cheering and hollaring like it was a real wrestling match.

For those interested here are the matches that are on the "Hulk Still Rules" dvd that ARE NOT on the "hogan anthology" dvd
Hogan debuts at msg vs Ted Dibiasi
the Shea Stadium match vs Andre the Giant (the date that is listed on page 16 is a few days later then the match at Shea)
Hogan returns from the awa (not really a match but Hogan's first wwf show when he got done with the AWA
Summerslam 89 tag match between Hogan and Brutus the Barber Beefcake vs Zeus and Macho King Randy Savage
All Star Wrestling Hogan as a heel vs 2 Latino jobbers
Hogan and Mean Gene Okerlund vs George "the Animal Steele" and Mr Fuji (match is taken from a fan cam with no announcers
Puerto Rican Downpour Vs Big John Studd (match is nothing special except that it rained in the middle of the match and Studd walked out.)
SNME vs Nikoli Volkoff
SNME vs Mr Perfect (little pissed that this match is not on the dvd)
SNME tag match with Hogan and Andre the Giant vs King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd
Wrestlevision 85 (first ppv for wwf) vs Roddy Piper
the 1988 Survivor Series match
Also there is potential (this has not been confirmed) that the Jesse the Body Ventura comentary might be deleted. For some of the matches on the anthology (the mega powers explode match) his commentary is essential. Also for the wm 2 match with king kong bundy in a steel cage, Ventura was the main announcer and Lord Alfred Hayes was the color guy.

I think there are a couple of possibilites (not to say much of what Vince does has to make sense):
1. When the Wrestlemania boxes were put out, WWE cut a deal with Ventura which included all of the WM footage from that point on.
2. WWE already has the WM footage mastered for dvd releases with commentary and figured it was not worth the effort to go back and edit
3. WWE figures (correctly) that the Pillman set will not sell nearly what the Hogan set will sell, therefore the costs of Ventura's royalties can't be absorbed by the sales numbers.
4. Vince and his "WWE is wrestling and nothing else matters, even though I own all that other stuff too" mentality decided that the WM footage is severly lacking when Ventura's commentary is left out and too important to compromise. However (this is Vince talking), "Most fans don't even know Jesse worked for WCW and no one cares about WCW anyway, so let's save a few bucks. Besides, they're just lucky to get anything and that I don't burn all of Ted Turner's tape library to the ground while doing a ritual dance."
This is all just speculization on my part. All I know, is that the only Jesse stuff that seems to ever be intact is the WM stuff, and I know I've never seen a WCW match on a WWE dvd that had Jesse's voice. And that's a shame, because I personally loved the JR/Ventura combination, and 1992 WCW is some of my favorite stuff ever.

One other funny aside about the Hulk set. The footage of Bash at the Beach '96 has Heenan's constant "but who's side is he on?" questions edited out.
