I prefer the regular box, but since I already have both versions of S6 (empty Homer head) I'll be needing a Marge to accompany Homer and give some more head. So BOTH for me.

Even though the regular packaging's outer box will have a top this time, isn't the inner packaging just going to be exactly the same one that is inside the heads anyway? I can't see them doing the old style digipacks just for the ones with regular packaging.
That being said, I am a little torn on which one to get. I didn't mind the Homer head for season 6, but then again, I haven't opened mine 30+ times, so mine isn't falling apart on me. I also don't know if I would rather have all regular boxes with one Homer head, or 5 regular and the rest heads. I just wish they never would have came up with the head idea in the first place, I guess.

When I checked out the packaging yesterday, it looked like it was the original style digipack, full sized box etc. Granted, I didn't open one up because it was still in the shrinkwrap.

Does anyone know if Fox will have a mail in offer in the Marge Head package for the box for Season 7 the way they did within the Season 6 Homer head? There was no hint of it on www.simpsonsbox.com. I like the idea of having both... one for display and one for storage.

Have this set in hand. The box is not exactly like S1-S5, but it is well constructed. It is the same width as the replacement box for S6, and it has the full size plastic "book" trays, not the half-size ones from S6. Also, the booklet is hilarious-it's a parody of an issue of Variety. The ad for Moe's method acting made me laugh out loud.
So, it appears the days of the fold out digipak are over for the Simpsons. Actually, I'm kind of glad the box is a similar width as the S6 replacement, as if it was the same width of S1-S5, S6 would always be the oddball. I would still be very interested in getting a box of the quality of S7 for S6, but all told, I'm happy. As I paged through the episode guide I realize it is very likely S7 has the most of my favorite episodes of any season. I will be devouring this over the weekend.

I went to a DVD store, near Toronto, on Saturday. I was looking at their boxed sets and I noticed that they had this set for sale. They had two or three copies and they were all the "Marge Head Limited Edition." That's the version I want to get, but I didn't buy it then due to the fact that they're selling it for ten dollars more than Future Shop and Best Buy are (at least, during tomorrow's release day sale.)

I am getting the Marge Head, while I don't like companies changing package style midstream, I think that years from now the Marge Head version of the set will be somewhat of a collectible because it will be hard to find because most people are going with the regular box sort of like the Disney Treasury tins being worth more than the versions that simply come in the plastic case.
