I can think of at least one other possibility, which is ambivalence. I plan to rent The Aristocrats because a lot of my friends raved about it, but frankly, I'm so jaded about profanity and things like incest, pedophilia, scatological sex, bestiality, etc. that if the humor lies in the taboo nature of discussing these things then I can't really see being entertained by it. To me, a 50-Cent video is more offensive in its portrayal of sex than any dirty joke. But I guess I'll need to rent the movie to see for myself.

Now, take the same idea but make it a no-holds-barred racist joke, and that to me is a winning concept.

ok thats about the laziest response one can make after someone says they dont like a movie.

i didnt like the movie.

people should know going in that this isnt really a joke.
it's just a story that comedians and such tell each other essentially trying to make it as raunchy as possible to one up the other tellers.
as fuld said,"The movie isn't about the "joke", it's about style and creativity"

i expected to hear different people telling the story right through.
not chopped and edited the way it is.
so we only get each section of the story told by many different people until the entire thing is told.

i think it took nearly 55 minutes untill we hear almst the entire ting right through when gilbert told it at hugh hefner's roast.

and someone in this thread mentioned that was edited too.

is the bonus features different?
do we hear the entire ting through from anyone?

Carlin tells his version complete less than seven minutes into the film so stop exagerating. This is an excellent documentary and really is a lot more about the world these comedians live in than about some old bad joke. You hear a lot of cool inside stuff during the documentary. I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves comedy.

I watched about half of it and it finally bored me to do something else. I guess I just don't find that joke to be very funny nor do I like listening to people talking about having sex with their children while gargling feces just after riding the shit and slide. And why wasn't Andrew Dice Clay involved in any of this? IMHO he is much funnier than well over half of the people that were involved in this documentary.
