Did "One Dark Night" actually get released today?

I picked up One Dark Night in a store here in NYC.
That is one of the worst covers i've ever seen. Awful.
There's a sticker on the dvd that claims theres a limited edition 35mm film strip included, alas there was one inside. Why would there be a film strip for this movie anyway? Weird.
I haven't checked the transfer or anything yet so the verdict is still out if Media Blasters/Shriek Show botched anything (other than that cover) yet.

The cover is actually very similar to the original newspaper ads. I thought it was pretty bad even back then. The transfer is OK, but leaves something to be desired. I'd compare it to their "Just Before Dawn" release.

Whats the major difference betwen the two cuts? Was the directors cut the uncut version (all gore scenes intact), as like JUST BEFORE DAWN, the print Media Blasters used was butchered.

I haven't had a chance to really watch the director's cut but what I did see was structured differently - the opening scene was the ambulances arriving at Raymar's place. The music wasn't the same either.

My dvd is defective. Around the 52 minute mark it starts to freeze up and it lasts for a good 10+ minutes on and off. It starts at the scene where Carol And Kitty break into the crypt via the storage room window. Once in, the dvd goes haywire.
The transfer was pretty lousy. Lots of grain, fading and it jumps, especially when there is a cut. The dvd and vhs claim they are 94 minutes but the running time is 88 minutes. Can anyone verify what the actual running time is?
The Commentary was very good... But strange thing is that they kept thanking BLUE UNDERGROUND for the dvd. I remember when blue underground announced this project, so how did it end up at Media Blasters/Shriek show? Did they snake it out from under Blue or did BU give them the rights?
I wish BU stuck with the dvd. This one could have benefited from a nice transfer as the movie has some great atmosphere. The commentary was very good by the way.

From what I hear Blue Underground couldn't secure a decent enough print and since Media Blasters doesn't give a shit about that they picked the title up. The commentary had already been recorded by then.
Funnnnn!!!!!

I still love the movie, but both prints are pretty bad. The director's cut was borderline unwatchable. I am glad I have it though, but I wish all the delays has been to really clean up the print.
