Snatch Deluxe Edition - 1/3/06

This is one of my favorite movies, but this hardly seems worthy of a double dip. I hope these ridiculous re-releases will not be common when Sony wins the HD war.

Title: Snatch
Starring: Brad Pitt
Released: 3rd January 2006
SRP: $19.94

Further Details
Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment has revealed the artwork for a new two-disc deluxe edition of the Guy Richie directed Snatch which stars Jason Statham and Brad Pitt. This new edition will include the standard two-disc edition of the film, along with an audio CD (presumably the soundtrack - although yet to be confirmed), and a collectible booklet. We'll bring you the full details, just as soon as they are made available to us. For now though, here's an early look at the official region one package artwork:

When they take existing discs and add ancillary things like a CD or a book, I don't really consider it a rerelease.

and the art looks very much like the UK release... and just for the cd and book... really not going to be worth it.

$19.99 retail price? Consider it sold.

Was this delayed? I saw a listing for this in my computer at work that had a release date of 9/27 I believe. I tried to order it but had no luck. Guess this is the version.

As for anybody wondering what the cd is, my computer had it listed as the soundtrack, so take it for what's it worth.

The previous 2-disc Special Edition is still in print, no? Amazon still lists it. If it was OOP, one could sell it off and pick up the new one, if the all the extras were intact. Oh well. I'm not really interested in the soundtrack or booklet. I'm good.

There was a time when it was announced as going OOP in favor of a one-disc version ... don't know if it ever really did, though. Even after it was supposedly OOP, it was going for $5 or less on Ebay.

Negative. It's since been discontinued, so any stock Amazon has is backstock. Same goes for Buy.com.

Thanks for the news, but I'm pretty content w/ my two-disc set. Really good movie, but not good enough for me to have two copies.

Thanks again!

Why would anyone even think about double dipping when there is the SuperBit 2 Disc version out there!?

Yeah, and for only $9.99. I almost upgraded this myself yesterday.

Double dipping for a soundtrack cd and dead trees.

I enjoyed the movie, but won't be double-dipping on this one.

Pass. For those who have the Superbit, however, the commentary track with Vaughn and Ritchie is one of the better I've listened to.

I never picked up the original, so if everything is carried over, plus more, I'll pick this up.

This is one of my favorite movies, but I'm quite happy at this point with the original 2-disc.

And the OP really blew it. This thread should have been "Want more Snatch?". "Snatch Deluxe Edition" really doesn't do it for me and deprives your fellow community members a good opportunity to make our day a little more fun.
