Well...the following extras have just been passed in the UK by the BBFC:

00:09:27:07 (THE GAME - ON LOCATION)
00:01:09:06 (THE GAME ALTERNATIVE ENDING)

as well as a commentary.

This looks to be most of the extras from the Criterion laserdisc and I'm guessing they've been licensed for this other release. I'm assuming we'll get this here as well.

Let us all pray to which ever god we prey to, that this means something that we have all been looking for.

Never seen this movie, but I've heard alot about it. Fincher, for me at least, is kind of hit or miss. Thanks for the update.

I've never seen it either, and I'm a fan of every other Fincher movie that I've seen...so I'm definitely looking forward to this if it ever comes to be.

I'd definately double-dip on this when it comes out. If the import isn't that expensive (cd-wow), I may go ahead and go that route.

no date given...yet. but if they were submitted, i would assume within the next 4 months.

this deserves the Special Edition treatment, all the way!

Can't wait. I just wish Criterion was doing it. I still prize my Criterion LD of THE GAME.

Releasing this as a SE makes complete sense, it stinks it has not been given it's due yet.

In case anyone wonders about the Alternate Ending

I always heard that the alternate ending was:


I have no idea if that was ever filmed, but I remember hearing about it somewhere.

There's many possible endings Fincher wanted to go. One was that the game never ends at all (which would be fitting for what you said).

There are comments about these endings in the commentary.

I may or may not be interested. I don't really like the director, either.

That is a nice cover. It's from the teaser trailer. I'd be perfectly happy with the Criterion LD cover art as well.

however, I am pretty excited, this has been my #1 most anticipated re-release for a long time now.

Yikes. That cover is pretty bad. I actually like the current non-SE cover much more. The CC cover is nice but a bit too plain.

what is the date of the Belgium release? and where can you get?

It'd be nice to have this. I've still got the vhs version to upgrade.

I would seriously consider getting the Belgian release if the R1 release doesn't have the same cover art (or something better?).

It's nice to know that some places still use the teaser/theatrical posters for their cover art. I wish that a more common occurence.

Spain gets theirs April 19th. Same cover.

Hopefully Universal will feel the need to compete and finally put out a bloody SE of this masterpiece this year.
