The Island Release Date And Some Extras Revealed!

Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Island for December 13th , 2005. The retail price wiil be $29.99 SRP.


Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround audio and optional English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles So Far , Confirmed bonus features are , Commentary With Director Michael Bay and a Behind-The-Scenes Look At the Creation of the Film's Action Sequences and Harrowing Stunts. Full details on the extras are TBA.

Why is Universal releasing this? Wasn't it a WB/Dreamworks release? This is funny because about a month ago it was said Paramount was releasing the dvd. Hmmm? I know Universal handles dreamworks dvd processing but it is still under the dreamworks banner. Maybe it's just a mistake.

As you point out, Universal handles distribution for DreamWorks. And given the state of decline at DreamWorks, I'm sure they need all the help they can get.
