Old copies of Survivor Series and Royal Rumble sell well (mostly 2000-2002), as well as all OOP ECW DVD's not called Path of Destruction (which gets nothing). One hot title is Judgement Day 2002, since it was a WWE Shopzone exclusive and is not listed on Amazon.com.

nWo: Back in Black is very hot, since I find them used all the time and they are starting to move up in value. Wrestlemania's 15-18 are still expensive but have dropped in price since the new sets came out. At one point, I sold several 2000's and X-7's for over 80 bucks each, but they have settled happily into the mid-40's. Also, be on the look out for Best of Raw Vol 1-2. It only gets high 20's-mid 30's, but I've never failed to sell one within hours of listing it.

I agree with you on the Wrestlemania X5-to-X8, however among the OOPs, the hottest of them all is WMX7.

Well, try not to forget that there is also a "WWE" not WWF DVD that is now rare and sold at ebay at the low$50s - its the Rise & Fall of ECW (with the RVD figure) - Bestbuy Exclusive Packaging.

I was going to say, apparently modesty isn't a common trait here. I appreciate the fact that from participating on sites such as these, I've got somewhat of a leg up on the competition, a la insider stock trading, but I don't abuse it. Capitalizing on a general unawareness to a titles current status is just the nature of the beast, but I don't go so low as to prey on the people. It's a hobby, almost a sport of sorts, and it's never to fund some lavish lifestyle, just to help ME afford equally as HTF titles that I haven't had the good fortune of coming across, buying them from other DVD enthusiasts. I present myself and my craft as professionally as possible, because the last thing I want is to be labeled an opportunistic scalper of sorts.

I'm not bragging, it's just that the bidders were quantitatively idiots. You'd think it would be common sense to ensure that a particular title isn't being rereleased before spending 200 dollars on it. The buyer could have found out by doing a 30-second Google search.

That's funny, the unrated Swamp Thing was doing very good before Christmas. I sold one really nice one for $44.99 and another OK one for $42.99. I'm surprised that NWO: Back in Black is valuable, I don't know how many of these I've passed up on. I sold a WM-X7 recently for $45 which was a bit shocking to me, but I don't know how bad the new release is hacked up on the boxset.

The reason why even if you had it priced at $9.99, collectors will still pursue the PG rated MGM SwampThing 2002 Release (The PG version which was recalled from Blockbuster rental *due to numerous reports of parents about the bathing nudity scene and MGM pulling if off from retail shelves)

It is possible that the "new" rated version of Swampthing is now "rated R" than the former "PG rating"

Eitherway, if the one you have happens to be the rated PG Swampthing, then dude you got yourself a goldmine.


Now:, for those who are curious about the Swampthing, make sure the one your getting is PG Rrated MGM 2002 release, its the catch!

Well, for those collector's who were intruiged about the "PG" issue. Its not only Swampthing, Try getting "Sheena:Queen of the Jungle"

They're both rated PG, and they both have the Barbeau bathing scene, full frontal very apparent. I don't know why the original release still sells well, everything in that one is available on the new disc, IIRC.

It is news to me that the Artisan Farewell, My Lovely was recalled. I did buy it from Reel.com, so it is possible the DVd never made it to store shelves. I tried to buy the Criterion version of The Killer just before it went OOP, but all the online merchants were sold out. I did get almost the equivalent, the Winstar The Killer paired with Hard-Boiled, now also OOP. The Winstar version also came with an English audio dub. Because I missed out on The Killer, I later bought two copies of the Criterion Hard-Boiled, which has the John Woo trailers as an extra. Still, the prices online sellers charge for Farewell, My Lovely are amazing, especially since most are the region 2 or 4 releases or bootlegs.

The only OOP disks that I want (to watch) and have never seen in store are Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring.

Boy, you guys are really trying to confuse everyone about the SWAMP THING issue.

First of all, the original release was pulled from shelves after *ONE* incident of a parent complaining to Blockbuster about the nudity.

That original DVD release indicated PG on the packaging, but the DVD itself contained the extended European cut of the film which had ADDITIONAL NUDITY *not seen* in the original US PG version. Yes, the original US PG version had some brief nudity of Barbeau in the lake, but this extended version had MORE nudity (a longer version of that Barbeau scene with longer, extended shots of her breasts as well as another scene with some topless girls being fondled at an outdoor party). So that was definitely NOT the original US PG version.

The current re-released disc also contains the "PG" logo on the case, but this time it actually "IS" the shorter US edit PG version of the film. And it does contain some slight nudity, just not as much as the recalled version had.

So, yes, collectors will want to seek out the old disc. And please don't spread false information if you don't know what you're talking about.

More nudity is a confusing statement? perhaps what is the approximate running time of the "recalled" PG version vs. the "re-released" PG Version

I shouldn't have said "unrated". I guess that version was actually the "international" release that was accidentally used for that 1st 2002 DVD pressing. THAT is the one I have.
