Ben Hur CE will be placed back into the pool of available titles as a box set - since it has 2 separate films in the set. I will pick Dr. Strangelove - 40th Anniversary Edition as my re-pick.

Okay, so, I imagine then this would also EXCLUDE the Python set from the draft seeing as how they are individual released sets and seasons as well. I personally don't care one way or the other but we should at least try for some form of consistency here:
So: re-pick 3. Rushmore Criterion Pick 4 (I'll snag later on) |
Pick 4: To Kill a Mockingbird Legacy Collection

I personally think 'Ben Hur' and 'Fanny & Alexander' should be considered acceptable single-selections, but I do think consistency should be made whether these are counted or not. |
If Ben Hur is back in the pool (and not a boxset), I choose that. If not, I choose the Schindler's List giftset.

This looks like a pretty cool/fun thread, sorry I missed the cutoff on joining this round... but I was thinking that maybe instead of a "2 Criterion" and "1 Box set" cap -- which is really confusing with the way CC numbers releases and eliminates certain titles from being drafted (eg the Cassavettes box set), that you institute a hard MSRP "salary cap." Say it was $250, you could "spend" $124.95 on the Cassavettes set, but that would take half your cap space and make you really budget the other 9 draft picks... plus it would add value to quality films that are available as inexpensive discs (Paris, Texas comes to mind as does a bunch of the Woody Allen catalogue).
Just a thought... I know some NFL fantasy leagues have salary caps to help balance out things. I hope to get in on the game the next time it starts up, though. :) -- Jim |

If so, you can take over one of the collections that only have one titles selected... there are 2 to choose from. |
3. The Rock CC
4. The LIon king special edition |

Does the Schindler's List giftset contain a different DVD version of the film then you can buy without the giftset? If not, it would not be allowed in accordance to rule 4-h. |

"No 'gift set' releases if the DVD contained within such set is available individually." I don't believe there are any exclusive DVD extras in the gift set. |
My forth round pick is the Pink Panther Collection
I would have to agree that if the Seinfeld re-gift set isn't allowed then the flying circus set should be excluded since it too contains multiple seasons of a TV show. But I may just be angry that I didn't pick it first. |
Deadwood - Season 1 (TV)
|
4. Shrek 2
|

So my next three picks are: 2. Le Cercle Rouge (CC) 3. The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (CC) 4. La Dolce Vita |
The Rules of the Game: Criterion Collection
|
The Sting Legacy Collection

So, what's the ruling on the Python set?
