Finally!!! The monkeys at Columbia Pictures recently dropped the price for Gattaca, but the only copies I see at stores are all full screen.

No, Columbia messed up: it's one of the titles they've dropped the widescreen side from while keeping the UPC code the same. However, it was done fairly recently, so there's a chance you'll get the one with WS. If you get it and Jude Law is on the cover, you'll know it's fullscreen only.

I'll probably end up getting this, but unless there's a new transfer I'll hang on to the Superbit I just got. I'm almost sure the SE won't have DTS.

Great news. I had never seen the movie until I caught it on cable a couple months ago. Wow, I loved it!! This movie was VERY poorly marketed. It's about nothing I thought it was. I'll definitely be buying this, thanks for the heads up!

Gattaca was also the first DVD I bought, at the same time I bought the player.

I guess I'll sell off my copy once we get an official announcement. I got it as part of a 2 for $15 deal awhile back. It's actually something I've watched on DVD since purchasing it (you don't want to know how many have still yet to see the inside of my player, let alone feel oxygen). Anyone think they'll release around the time Lord Of War hits DVD?

It would be great if it turns out to be one of those ultimate superbit special editions with the movie on one DVD and the extras on another in a 2 DVD set.

Didn't they re-release it just recently with that different greenish cover? Makes me wonder why they would all of a sudden spring us with a SE...
