worst replanted head artwork

i thought the worst artwork where heads were unnaturally "photoshop'd" onto bodies belonged to the Star Wars original trilogy. but now i've seen the cover for the Longest Drive, and that one took the cake. Kurt Russell doesn't even have a neck there.

That's very bad. This one always cracks me up too:

 Yeah, that one's pretty bad.

FILMCZY 09-06-05 04:32 PM

The cover art for Universal's WEIRD SCIENCE is pretty bad...the heads of Anthony M Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith are about 2X the size of their bodies and are not even facing the right direction. Universal should have used the original poster art. It would have been just fine...

The British cover for Infernal Affairs 2 is pretty bad:

Rypro 525 09-07-05 09:49 AM

it looks like they took the pose of Nixon on the stairs of the plane, but 2 guns in his hand, and photoshoped the star of hte movie on.

Hard to really tell on this image, but this has always been a favorite:

Reinhold made fun of it on Letterman once, if I recall.

That is what I was going to post. Here it is. Radar with boobs and Blake with a left handed salute.

And then there is this one. The heads look right, but check out that magical non-spilling beer mug! Bad photoshop all around on this one.

I've always loved this one. The heads are fine, but it's clear the actors were all photographed separately, and how can you not admire the half-assed fake money they've photoshopped into Nick and Rachel's hands?!

The woman's head is all out of porportion with the rest of the body. There is a shot of her running on the back of the case that looks normal, and prooves that is not her body.

Catch that Kid also disturbs me
Original poster:
http://www.ideenkapital.de/fileadmin...Kid_Poster.jpg
DvD cover:
http://movies.nnov.ru/Covers/Catch%20That%20Kid.jpg
And I can't find an image of the back cover, but the heads are the exact same as the previous two images, just different bodies. It's like they paid the kids for one photo shoot and that's it.

darmok 09-07-05 03:48 PM

these covers really crack me up. can't believe how studios green light these. aren't they supposed to have an ample supply of talented graphic artists who do this for a living? and i guess actors don't okay the covers, because half of these don't look very flattering.

Reminds me of this "knit your own" things at Target..there was one where you knit a dog toy and the dog on the front has the toy in its mouth. You can tell the toy is fake because its "lips" don't curve around the toy sticking out of its mouth and its obvious that its just a dog sitting there panting.

Anyway...

The recent "Tommy Boy" DVD release has some doctored head shots on it. They arent planted, but you can tell they are fixed in some way.

salamander2 09-09-05 03:22 AM

the cover for MODERN PROBLEMS and RACE WITH THE DEVIL is really bad.

The Infidel 09-09-05 03:46 AM

I remember there being a debate after this came out about whether it was really their bodies. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it.

I like how billing requirements have the stars' names in a specific order, so they're awkwardly placed directly above the wrong photos on the cover.

I remember reading back then about a lot of people thinking the heads just didn't look right One magazine even had a picture of two body doubles who claimed to be the real people in the picture, the film company put the stars' heads on their bodies, and (IIRC) they were never paid for posing for the picture.

EDIT: I decided to look around a little bit on the 'net, and it appears there's still different opinions on the Pretty Woman poster. Most sites that mention something about it attribute the body double to actress Shelley Michelle. Shelley is listed on IMDB as an uncredited body double, but I think this kind of listing most likely refers to the movie itself, although she may have been used for the poster as well, I suppose. I even found one site that gives body double credit to "Los Angeles body-double Donna Scoggins". Hard telling what the real deal is.

Numanoid 09-09-05 11:12 AM

I remember that it was made quite clear at the time that it was definitely NOT Julia Roberts' body on the poster.

Pretty Woman is NOT legit...Julia threw a hissy fit about that not being her body during press interviews when the movie was first released.

Why does the dude on the right side of the cover have his hand up the John Woo double gun action guy's ass?

Maybe the John Woo double gun action guy is a puppet. That's one big puppet.

While not a head photochop, this one really pisses me off:

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

I saw the movie, and the movie does not show the kid finding American money, yet they photochop American currency on the cover of this BRITISH MOVIE. I despise the Americanization of British movies, and will be seeking out the region two edition of this one.

If you've seen the original photo, you'll understand why they replaced Keira's head. The expression on her face doesn't exactly endear itself to the ordinary consumer.

There is other money on the cover as well.

No duh. But there is no American money in the movie. It was photochopped into the image to Americanize the movie. Now, if it ends up on the UK edition of the movie, I will be quiet. Until then, I will continue to complain about the Americanization of British movies. Like replacing the spoken word "football" with "soccer" in the Americanized version of Bend It Like Beckham.
