Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 12.06.05

Jedi heroes Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi continue their valiant fight to stop the evil Separatists led by General Grievous in the Emmy Award-winning and critically acclaimed Star Wars: Clone Wars series. The animated adventures that appeared on Cartoon Network and starwars.com Hyperspace will be complete on DVD on December 6, 2005 with the release of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2.

All five 12-minute chapters of Volume 2 are included in this release, chronicling Anakin's rise to Jedi Knight as well as General Grievous' daring attack against the Republic capital, leading directly into the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. See Grievous cut through Jedi warriors as he kidnaps the Chancellor, Mace Windu and Yoda fighting side-by-side to defend Coruscant, and Skywalker's shocking vision of the future.

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky with Art Direction by Paul Rudish, the Clone Wars series are a fresh, stylized take on Star Wars. Each chapter features exclusive audio commentary by Tartakovsky and his team of artists. Also included as bonus material is a brand new featurette, "Connecting the Dots," that takes audiences inside the creative process and shows how the series connects to Episode III. There are also two full galleries of animation concept art, storyboards, and sketches, as well as trailers for upcoming LucasArts video games, Star Wars: Empire at War and Star Wars Battlefront II, which also includes an Xbox playable demo of two entire levels from Battlefront II.

I'll buy it, but I'm not really happy about it.

They could have easily fit the whole thing on one DVD, and released it before Episode III so the backstory would be filled in.

I agree. If not that though, at least release Vol 2 in October before Episode III. Now I basically have to wait until at least 12/6 before i can have my 6 movie (plus clone wars cartoon) marathon.

Don't forget the Holiday Special! Then you can have your marathon in this order:

Phantom Menace -> Gouge Eye Out -> Attack/Clones -> Clone Wars -> Revenge/Sith -> A New Hope -> Holiday Special -> Gouge Other Eye Out -> Empire Strikes Back -> Return of the Jedi

Then you'd be blind before you could see the best film in the series

Good point, except realistically I'd probably gough my eye out after each thing except the original trilogy. So I would need a lot of eyes. lol

And during Ewok scenes in ROTJ, you can slowly scratch your corneas until they are clouded over like an old pair of glasses...

I'm looking forward to this. I enjoyed volume 1 better than any of the live action movies in the series.

Anyone think V1 and 2 will be packaged in a box set? I passed on the first one because I speculated they would do this....

Nope.

The disc will include all five 12-minute chapters in anamorphic widescreen video, with Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround audio.

The info was not very detailed on the future animated series. There were rumors that it would continue to fill in the Clone Wars though, with more stuff before Volume 1 and in between Volume 1 and 2.

The live action TV show will take place between Episodes 3 and 4.

Well if they do, I hope they get better artists! I couldn't stand the art on the Clone Wars!

Rumors said it would be the same team. I loved the art in Clone Wars so I'm fine with it.
