Round 10. Lawrence of Arabia (Limited Edition) (2-disc with reprod. Booklet)

Even as someone who can get in at 9:00 basically I do not favor a trade day, primarily because there aren't enough good picks for everyone to trade out one dvd and received one dvd, instead there are essentially three or four dvds that everyone would like to steal for their collection and it will just turn into a mess. People made their 10 picks (hopefully without assuming they could trade one of them; I imagine no one made a bum choice just to have something to trade). I say we stick with 'em.

A Trade day would be fine with me. One more day of the madness!!! Question though: lets say person A trades in a dvd for one in the pool; do the rest of us have a chance to trade a dvd for the dvd that person A swapped in?

I say lets start the tourney. Not enough DVDs to go around, and I'm psyched as hell for the tourney.
P.S. - You are all playing for second

I think that is what Duhon had said to the other ACC players the year he got second place for Player of the Year.

My final pick- Yi Yi

I say we just go with the picks we made along the way.

I too think we should not have a trading round. You keep the titles you picked. But who will we get to manage the 5 or so dead teams?

The dead teams will be dropped from the tourney, which means some of you will get a first-round bye.

We could just continue to match those spots up with players and use the dead teams to give some players free rounds. That way it all still works out even.
Edit: This post is pointless being that Groucho beat me to the post.

So how will the tournament work? Will the players vote, or is anyone eligible? Are we going to get a chance to make a case for our picks, or do we just post the lists? I wouldn't mind letting everyone write a short paragraph for each film they selected.

That would be an interesting idea, but if we go that route, I am not in favor of voting starting till next week, I think some folks would need time to write up their paragraphs. If we want to just get going I think it should just be the lists posted.

I didn't see it updated on the first page yet.

#10 LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring EE

I say no trade, there doesn't look like enough good picks to go around. I see some will get byes, but how will the seeds be set by draft pick # (1 vs. 32; 2 vs. 31?) or random?

Maybe it's the Molson talking.

10th and final round pick: Wings of Desire

Oh, I forgot to add that I vote no trade.

I'm going to let anybody and everybody vote.

I'll post up the list of collections, and if you want to write a paragraph "defending" your selections, you'll be free to do so in the voting thread.

I don't know if the paragraph thing is a good idea. It could come down to the users writing skills as opposed to the actual dvds picked.

I like the parapraph thing, but only if you limit the number of words (say 100?). It gives the competitor a chance to tie in his/her collection with a theme.
