Pick someone's collection and pick enough DVDs that no one else has picked so that you have 7.

What do people think of that idea?
Seems kind of complicated. Personally, I'd rather just jump into the tourney with either byes voted on or maybe 3 regions of 8 with a round robin in the finals.

Almost there - take somebody's draft with only a pick or 2, you inherit those picks, and add the rest. Il Pacte Lupes will be shot down since it's not region 1, and A Better Tomorrow 1 + 2 will count as a movie box so you may not want to make that pick since you only get 1 movie box. I imagine Jim Henson's Storyteller will be a TV collection, of which you only get 1, so keep that in mind

So go to page 1, you see that Case01 drafted Straw Dogs and stopped. So you can take over that squad, so you might have
Straw Dogs
Roger Rabbit
U-571
Ed Wood
Exorcist
Jin-Roh SE
Storytellers Coll

Or you might prefer jigga with Black Hawk Down and Clerks X. So you might have
Black Hawk Down DE
Clerks X
U-571
Ed Wood
Exorcist
Jin-Roh SE
Storytellers Coll

Just make sure you take 1 without a TV DVD (I'm assuming Storytellers will count TV) and pick an 8th tomorrow at 12 noon EST.

Edit: definitely take Ed Wood, Jin-Roh, and Roger Rabbit because someone will probably take these now that you've mentioned them.

Giles: Yes, you can take over Case01's slot. You automatically get Straw Dogs, and I'll need 6 additional picks to fill out the roster (right now, you've given me 7).

Which Das Boot? Director's Cut, Superbit, or 2-Disc complete, which may count as a TV box?

This would mean you don't want any of your previous choices? See Cleaver's post. Essentially you can't just start with a blank slate, you MUST have straw dogs in your collection. This leaves you with six empty slots. You provided seven movies initially and groucho wanted to know which of the seven you would bump for straw dogs (which you must take).

So, you could have a list like this:
Straw Dogs
Roger Rabbit
U-571
Ed Wood
Exorcist
Jin-Roh SE
Storytellers Coll

or your new list which would be:
Straw Dogs
Nausicaa and the valley of the wind
The Deadly Spawn
Step into Liquid
Jimmy Newtron Boy Genius
Das Boot
A Night at the Opera

The question to you is this, plain and simple: You currently have ONLY straw dogs. What six titles (in addition to Straw Dogs) would you like?

You can also take dmacsg1's list and take some version of Army of Darkness and add to that. I just picked 2 guys lists.
