#7: Mystery Science Theater: Manos: Hands of Fate.

This is from TV series (which I've already picked), but it's also a single disc. Is that okay?

This will be my one boxset, and I believe that none of the titles in the set are re-issues of previously-released DVDs.

I think MST3K single disc should count as movies...Manos is a movie....just hosted by a tv show.

I'm anal too(I think that most DVD collectors are). My 7th pick is Donnie Darko, not Donny Darko.

You're allowing "Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection"? Those movies were released separately before that collection came out.

I propose we take two picks Friday, and then start the voting Monday morning.

I think that would be a good idea... that would give Groucho the weekend to set up the bracket.

I can't say I'm in favor of that idea. It would give people who can post immediately at 9am an even bigger advantage than they already have.

Also, I may not do the bracket immediately. Since it looks like we'll have several players who have dropped out, I was thinking about having a one-day "Trading Day." I would put all the DVDs drafted by dropped players in a "pool" and players could trade any ONE of their DVDs for one in the pool.

What do people think of that idea?

Not sure of the trading thing... I think we really need players for all 32 collections - especially to make the bracket work right.

Would you consider, If it comes down to it, letting players manage 2 teams? I would be interested in taking over the collections for spartanstew, Anomaly, or jigga6286 (in that order).

Groucho:
- I am not in favor of managing two teams;
- I am in favor of allowing two picks per day (maybe unitl everyone has 10 picks);
- I kinda like the trading idea; however, I propose that we should go in reverse draft order to even out the playing field (i.e. Team 32 picks first, team 31 picks second).

By the way, I am havign a lot of fun with this--thanks for setting it up.

Groucho - Maybe you should update the thread title to read "The DVDTalk DVD Draft Game - Alternates Needed!"

This will get those who thought they could not participate because it was full enter the thread and grab one of the dead collections.
