Some rulings...

Because I never specified which clock to use, slop101 gets the Goodfellas 2-disc...but, from now on make your submissions based on the DVDTalk clock.

ryuryu2949 gets Shawshank Redemption LE

Fronchot gets Raging Bull SE

Anomaly gets Family vol 2

(please note that I am not monitoring the thread 24/7, so rulings might take a while...be patient)

Groucho, one last appeal of this decision. As some of the other board members have pointed out, this guy's story is fishy. Who knows if his clock was really incorrect or whether he just jumped the gun. I could have posted at 11:30 and said, "oh, i thought it was noon," but I didn't. But because his clock was incorrect (or he is fibbing, either way), he gets what I would have selected at the stroke of noon? Not fair. It is not a matter of which clock to use, it is a matter of the correct time. Your rules state that the time to pick is "Noon Pacific time," not "when you THINK it might be noon pacific time." I am not asking for you to employ the correct clock, I am asking for you to change your decision because I made my pick at Noon pacific, and he did not.

Please reconsider and award me the Goodfellas S.E. dvd.

Thank you (and I won't post again about this).

I would also prefer if we have a strong standpoint on this whole issue because we already have an early pick for today.

I gave slop101 the benefit of the doubt because

1) It was only a few minutes before 9am.
2) I never explicitly stated that the DVDTalk clock was the "official timepiece."

jfrost obviously had a super-early pick. He mentioned earlier that he is unable to post after 9am.

I have another early pick from dollfins1: Saving Private Ryan D-Day Edition.

Since there haven't been a lot of conflicts, I've been pretty leniant about this and simply copying early picks once 9am rolls around...but starting NOW I'm going to crack down. Any picks that are made before 9am Pacific time will simply be ignored. (jfrost and dollfins1 will be grandfathered in, unless somebody pipes in at 10am that they want one of their picks).

weren't the die hard dvds released individually before they were issued in the collection? the die hard collection pick seems ineligible.

Hey, I gotta make sure I get my pick. I had a feeling that Cleaver was waiting to pounce on that one.

Round 5 Has Begun

Note that Round 6 begins Monday at 9am Pacific so you have plenty of time to get your picks in. Note also that I have added a couple more folks to the "Alternate" list. Tell your friends to come and join the fun!

"Die Hard Collection" -- I believe the previously released discs were "bare bones" editions, so different from what is in the collection. Somebody correct me if this is wrong.

but all three were available seperatly, and the die hard 5 star collection was available before the box set. With the same logic that kicked out my hitchcock set this should be disallowed

jfrost -- based on user input, I'm going to disallow the Die Hard Collection.

Joe Molotov -- The Matrix set has been previously disallowed, so I'll give you your alternate pick.

As a side note, I can't wait until everybody has picked their one box set and tv set. Every single choice creates a controversy!
