Obviously you are not a golfer.

5th Dimension?! huh? These songs are from the musical 'Hair' and what's the connection between these songs and being a golfer?

I hope you are joking, but for the 1% chance you aren't, the golfer line is a classic quote from Big Lebowski.

Got mine at Circuit City today. No slipcover. :(

I do like the glossy/foil-like cover. It's more sturdy than the usual sheets they use.

digitalfreaknyc 12-13-05 01:52 PM

When the hell did this get pushed up???

darmok 12-13-05 04:19 PM

i haven't spotted any with slipcovers...yet.

silver_yummies 12-13-05 06:00 PM

yup - released today!

Slowpc 12-13-05 06:07 PM

Yep , no slipcovers.

ShallowHal 12-13-05 07:23 PM

I got the unrated edition @ Target, no slipcover.

Doughboy 12-13-05 07:41 PM

I got it at Circuit Sh-tty. No slipcover.

LorenzoL 12-13-05 11:08 PM

This was a blind buy for me and got it at Future Shop. I bought the Unrated WS and it had no slipcover.

Mok 12-14-05 04:41 AM

Walmart had the unrated widescreen and a rated widescreen. Shocking, I picked up the unrated of course.

I thought there were only 3 options:

Unrated Widescreen
Unrated Fullscreen
Rated Fullscreen

Shiny foil finishes are usually reserved for slipcovers. The fact that this case's insert is shiny does point to there not actually being a slipcover. Where is the suggestion that there is one coming from?

This could seriously keep me from buying it. Too bad.

yeah i watched this movie for the 1st time last night....it was funny but i kept looking at the timer and thinking wow..this isn't over yet? After i saw the timer at 2hr 5mins i stopped looking. Funny movie but a little long

Circuit City's website has "slipsleeve packaging" as part of the item description. That led me to believe there would be a slipcover.

After watching the Unrated version last night, I wished Universal released a Rated widescreen edition as well (or had the option to choose on the disc, ala Universal's American Wedding or New Line's upcoming Wedding Crashers).

The extra footage seriously kills the flick's pacing in some scenes. Some jokes from the theatrical cut are killed in the unrated version (the Everybody Loves Raymond gag is just not funny in the unrated) and some of the scenes go on for way too long.

Maybe one day Universal can double-dip us with both cuts, better transfers, and more deleted footage (simply because it exists).

There's a problem with the transfer?

Al Padrino 12-14-05 11:07 PM

I got the unrated version without even knowing it. I wasn't aware there was an option, but I'm glad that I picked the version I would've bought had I known there were more than one out there.

The transfer is just okay. For a film produced in 2005, it should be a great transfer; not something that's just decent.

Hilarious that thread title still has the incorrect date

That's a terrible cover, but the tagline is hilarious.

The theatrical version was too long. The last thing I want is MORE footage.

I just watched the movie (unrated) for the first time last night and loved it. But can anyone clue me in as to what scenes were added/extended from the theatrical cut (other than the Raymond gag, mentioned above)?
