All that Star Trek together looks great, it would have been so cool if Enterprise actually matched as well...

Numes.

Nice setup. Is that shelf that has the Bond titles on it one that you got at Best Buy? They have one similar to that one that I might get. How many does it hold and is the backing enough support for the dvds themselves? I'm asking that because of all the open space behind the shelves.

Yes, they are the ones from Best Buy. They hold 200 or 250 DVD's each shelf (I'll check). The backing is a curved metal bar that comes up about 1 inch above the bottom of each shelf to provide the backing for the DVD's. There are two diagonal supports in the back that provide support from the shelves shifting left and right. They still sway a little if the shelf is empty and you try and move it. They've been pretty good to me, though.

Numes, Great collection. With regards to the Star Trek disks you have. You need to get Ric Easton's covers to replace the boxes. If you haven't heard or seen them. Here is his set for all of the shows in genesys dvd cases....

Here is the link to his site: http://rixgrafix.com/index_064.htm

On a side note. I am also an autograph collector. Where did you get the signed posters?

I will check out those cases, they look fantastic. I like the fact that he accounted for the Best Buy bonus discs. I don't have all of them, but I have most of them.

As for the posters. I just got them on e-bay. They were both in auction at the same time and won both of them. I hope they are real I didn't pay a ridiculous amount for them, so even if I did get taken on them, I'm not out too much! I can find the seller if you like.

Good catch. They are in the "Need to finish watching all the special features for these DVD's" pile.

Here are some pics of my collection and setup. A few notes about everything:
All the electronics are Sony except for the DTV Hughes HDTIVO and a custom pc I built to be able to surf online from my couch, play MAME/MESS games, etc.
The Speakers are all Klipsch and it is a full 7.1 setup.
The TV is a 60 inch.
I may be commiting a sin on these boards. I do have nearly 800 dvd's. Many are special editions but I dont save the boxes. To be able to store them all I put all my dvd's in jewel cases and make them labels so I can tell what movie it is.
Since I have all these electronics, I had to give a little. My wife gets to put whatever she wants on top of that stuff. Gotta let a girl be a girl. So I just put all my cool stuff in my office.
That is a 1:1 exact studio replica Alien Head from 20th Century Studios. The rest are master replica l.e. light sabers, mini busts, spidey states and the wall o spidey.

That's a nice setup you got Hensley300. The jewel case thing is an interesting alternative for storage. I have too much of a fondness for my case spines/art to do that. Too bad about giving in to the wife though I'm glad I have a tolerant one who puts up with my fetish for toys.

I have to ask though... where in the hell did you get that Snake Eyes bust and how much did it run you?

The snake eyes bust was made by Palisides a few years ago. I think you can find them on ebay for around $100 now

I can't imagine throwing the box art away to my dvd's, it seems almost silly to me. While I'm certainly not accusing you of anything, it would seem someone has a fondness of burning DVD's to stay on the cheap side of things....

You are wrong Joshtown. All of my dvd's are R1 originals give or take a few R0's I have. I have been accumulating them for some 7 years now and many were bought in large lots on ebay and split between myself and a few friends. Im sure everyone here appreciates your concern though

So, the ones that you do buy "complete" you throw away the box art? Just curious? BTW, I accused you of nothing. Relax.

Well if you're not accusing him, you sure are implying. Gotta love people who say "I don't believe you, but I'm not accusing you of lying".

Yea, Like I mentioned earlier, I am commiting a collecting "sin" but I was forced to draw the line somewhere. I skate on the edge laying down the big bucks for some of those light saber replicas, the alien head, etc. I also have a pretty large CGC graded comic collection, some of which we sold for the down payment on our house.
So when it came to the dvd's I had to make some cuts. What i usually do is scan in the box art and shrink it via adobe to form the top label insert for my jewel cases. I also save all the inserts that came with the dvd.
Yea, I disgard the rest usually selling the empty dvd cases on ebay in large lots. But I dont anticipate selling them anytime soon as I kept my vhs's till you practically couldnt give em away on ebay. I think ill do the same here. I dont see me buying any hd dvd players for the next 4-5 years or so.
I do buy special editions etc if there is something done to the dvd I cannot get by buying a normal edition. Maybe its mastered in dts or has a bonus disc with some extra features. Then Ill by the set.
