Classic sunset scenes

Dear forum,

I'm currently undertaking a audio visual composition based on the theme of a sunset and I wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of some classic film sunsets scenes? I don't mind what the films are about only that they have a poignant sunset scene in them. If you have any suggestions of films to check out that would great!

Thanks in advance.

Graham

One of the most memorable images in all of movie-history:

Scarlett standing silhouetted against the sunset as the first half of Gone With The Wind ends.

That might as well have been written in Sanskrit for all the insight it's provided me...

The forum won't let you post a message in all caps. Since all you posted was THX, it left the first letter a capital, and changed the rest to lowercase. There are ways to bypass it though, as I was trying to show you above.

Ah, how deliciously inventive (and obtuse) of me...thanks!

The forum hasn't always had this restriction, right?

that's the first thing that came to mind. Although I honestly can't remember if it's a sunset or a sunrise.

There are a couple of poignant scenes in a small film called "The Whole Wide World" with Renee Zellwegger and Vincent D'Onofrio. One is near the end - check it out.

I'm not sure if the "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" scene in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid features a sunset, but that's the way I remember it.
