Flinstone season 4- Yogi Bear - and Huckleberry Hound sets November 15th

Tvshowsondvd.com

From the moment Ann-Margrock (voiced by real-life singing superstar Ann-Margret) knocked on the front door of The Flintstones when her car broke down on the way to the Bedrock Bowl, the home audience knew that the 4th Season of the primetime animated series was going to be a good one! And the folks at Hanna-Barbera did not disappoint, starting with the early-season addition of Bamm-Bamm Rubble to the cast of the show. It was a season full of surprises of all sorts, including lots of crime, strangely enough: Betty gets caught up with counterfeiters, Fred is arrested for smuggling, Pebbles "shoplifts", and all four adults are arrested as thieves when the girls' hypnosis of their husbands goes horribly wrong! Then there's the hillbilly feud, the antics at the Water Buffalo Lodge, Fred and Wilma's job switch for a day, Dino's disappearance, Fred's dream about Arnold (the paperboy) running off with Pebbles, Fred's shot at being a baseball star, and the time Fred and Barney glue themselves to the same bowling ball. Not to mention the alien invasion...the one where all the invaders look exactly like Fred!

Look for all of this and much more in The Flintstones - The Complete 4th Season, arriving in a 4-DVD set on November 15th. All 26 episodes from the classic season of the classic program, which will run you a list price of $44.98. Besides 11 hours of episodes, you get these great bonus items:

Collectible animation cel
Episode commentaries
Featurette on the man who wrote the famous theme song
A look at how The Flintstones got on prime time TV

Be there for Ann-Margrock's smash song and Bamm-Bamm Rubble's smash debut as Warner Home Video brings us The Flintstones - The Complete 4th Season this November. Stay tuned for full-size box art, plus any further information the studio can send our way.

After a heads-up report more than a year ago that our picnic-basket-stealing friend was coming to DVD, Warner Home Video is ready to announce The Yogi Bear Show - The Complete Series. This is a 4-Disc collector's set which features all 35 remastered and restored episodes from the entire original show. This series was the break-out hit that started Hanna and Barbera's television shows on the track to the legends that they are today. Yogi and Boo-Boo Bear would battle Ranger Smith up and down the length of Jellystone Park, while the smarter-than-the-average-bear would try to nab every picnic basket he could lay his hands on from unsuspecting park visitors.

Yogi Bear's own series (15 hours worth of cartoons!) began in 1960, but Yogi's career started two years prior to that as the "sandwich" episodes of The Huckleberry Hound Show. Never fear, though, because if you want those early cartoons you may have them as well, since they are being including in the Huckleberry Hound DVD set. Both will be available from November 15th, for $44.98 SRP. Each comes with extras, and here is the list of extras for Yogi's package:

Collectible animation cel
Original episode with bridges and bumpers
Never-before-seen animation sketches come to life
Featurette on the art of Hanna-Barbera sound

Sounds like loads of fun! Stay tuned and we'll bring you full-size cover art, along with any updates that come to light. While we wait, let's just chow down on all these picnic baskets that Yogi's brought us, okay?

It has been well over a year since we first got the hint that this dog would hunt, DVD-style. Now Warner Home Video is set to announce The Huckleberry Hound Show - Volume 1 for release on November 15th. This 4-disc collector's set includes 26 episodes comprising more than 50 cartoons of the blue dog with the Southern drawl. You see, the program - Hanna and Barbera's second television show - started with a Huck cartoon, then would go to a cartoon featuring other characters, and then finish with a second Huck installment. The middle toon consisted at first of either Yogi Bear or else Pixie & Dixie vs. Mr. Jinks the cat ("I hates meeces to pieces!"). After two of Huckleberry's four-year run, Yogi was spun off into his own series (see separate news for a Yogi Bear DVD set!), and was replaced on Huck's show with Hokey Wolf.

Huckleberry, Yogi, Hokey, Pixie, Dixie, and Mr. Jinks are all on board this great set containing every one of the half-hour episodes from the original series, which was the first show of it's kind to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Program Achievement in the Field of Children's Programming. All 10 hours are lovingly restored and remastered, plus you get the following bonus material:

Collectible animation cel.
Featurette on reconstructing the premiere episode
Never-before-seen bumpers and bridge
Tribute to legendary voice talent Daws Butler ("Huckleberry Hound", "Yogi Bear", "Hokey Wolf", "Mr. Jinks", "Dixie", and many more animated characters from "Elroy Jetson" to "Scooby Dum").

All this goes for just $44.98 SRP. Stay tuned and we'll bring you full-size cover art, along with any updates that come to light. For now, though, let's join Huckleberry in a chorus of his favorite song, "My Darling Clementine"...

Fans of classic Hanna Barbara animation are going to be happy with today's new announcements by Warner Home Video. The studio has made official those titles we told you about a couple of weeks ago, namely The Flintstones: The Complete Fourth Season, Huckleberry Hound: Volume One and The Yogi Bear Show: The Complete Series! Each will street on 11/15 (SRP $44.98 each). The Flintstones: The Complete Fourth Season will include 26 episodes on 4 discs, along with audio commentary by historians and animation on the episodes Ann Margrock Presents and Little Bamm-Bamm, The Legendary Music of Hoyt Curtin documentary and The Flintstones featurette. Huckleberry Hound: Volume One will feature 26 episodes on 4 discs (extras, if any, are TBA). The Yogi Bear Show: The Complete Series will feature all 35 episodes of the series on 4 discs (once again extras, if any, are TBA). Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Yogi. Haven't seen him pilfering pic-a-nic baskets in years. Here's a look at the cover art for each set...
