In a rare Saturday post, The Digital Bits reported that a USA Today article confirmed the 11/8 release date for Revenge of the Sith. No details, but they're expecting the official announcement this week.

Well the November 8th date since it first started its run as a rumor, seemed pretty believable to me. It's very predictable for Star Wars anyway, to have it hit right before the holidays. I always was a little aggravated that movies like Star Wars or LOTR made you wait much longer than other films to come to DVD, but hey, it's always worth the wait. Especially for this one, Episode III is definitely the best out of the Star Wars prequals. And I'm sure all the bonus features and the specs can be predicted as well, being that it will most likely mimmic the Episodes I and II releases.

I think the wait is less about coming out before the holidays, and more about letting the movie have legs in theatres.

Early details have emerged at Comic Con on Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith which stars Ewan McGreggor and Hayden Christensen. This new two-disc set will be available to own from the 8th November this year, and should retail at around $27.95. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 EX track. Extras will include an audio commentary, a brand new long-form documentary, numerous new mini documentaries that take you behind the scenes of Episode III, and deleted scenes. One of these scenes chronicles the birth of the Rebel Alliance. It takes place in Senator Bail Organa's office, and we meet Senator Mon Mothma, who, as we see in Return of the Jedi, is the leader of the Rebel Alliance. We've attached a couple of screen shots from this brand new scene below. Stay tuned for further details, as we're expecting an official announcement very shortly.

Awesome Artwork. I was hoping for an extended cut of the film. I guess we'll have to hope the deleted scenes are good and wait for a fan created extended cut.

Last week i read an interview with Lucas in a magazine--sorry I can't remember which one right now--and he said that in 2006, for the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie, he's planning on releasing that movie in 3D. Then, over the next five years, releasing all the other Star Wars movies in 3D, too. So, of course, in about 2012, there'll be a box set of all six movies in 3D. So, prepare to buy these movies yet again.

I think its safe to say that he will be milking these movies forever. When new technology comes out and so on, he will re-release them. And, rightfully so. Its his baby. He deserves the money he gets. He is a genius, but just cant write love scenes. haha.
