Oh wow, this is great! I am totally geeking-out right now. I not only love Futurama, it may actually be my favorite show ever. I'm not into TV-on-DVD, but I actually imported seasons of Futurama from the UK before they were released over here and have now seen every episode at least twice. At this point I was even buying Futurama comics to get my fix, and they were not doing it.
New sig in honor of the occasion.

EXcellent news. I remember reading about the idea being tossed around a while back, but am glad to finally hear confirmation. Futurama is a great series and they have so many ideas to work with for a full movie, plus many story elements to continue.

I think Futurama is the best domestic animated series ever, even better than Groening's own Simpsons in my opinion. I have the entire original run of Family Guy on DVD and it's worth a chuckle but the new episodes are so ridiculously overwritten and completely unfunny. American Dad is even worse. I don't know why Seth MacFarlane still has a job.

I think we're going to see more and more of these kinds of things for TV shows...I keep waiting for the day when someone produces a series for DVD FIRST, and then TV airing LATER.
And speak for yourself, Bickle - I think the new Family Guy episodes are a riot...it's The Simpsons that I think have worn out their welcome. I don't find American Dad funny at all, so we agree there.

I still can't understand why FOX cancelled Futurama... yet continues to renew that piece of crap King of the Hill. I have never once laughed at that show. Mike Judge must have something on one of the FOX execs.

I like King of the Hill. Its a totally different viewpoint than many sitcoms. Not nearly has TOON filled as family guy, simpsons, or futurama. Nothing over the top happens, nothing happens that couldn't happen in real life. Its the white men of middle america show. They show a solid view point while poking fun at their own shortcomings.
