While I like I Spit on Your Grave. I have been burned with some blind buy Euro pick ups.

For example, after all the good things I heard about Fulcis Contraband. I picked it up,and was severely let down. The film bored me to death, and the gore near the finale could not save it.

I don't mind slow films, but they have to keep me interested in the charecters and proceedings, which Contraband did not do at all.

Well, when it's gone, it's gone... It will probably cost a lot more and become rather scarce after that. Buy it, you'll feel better.

Only thing missing is a Joe Bob Briggs commentary.

His commentary is one of the best parts about the "I Spit" ME... oh, and the fact that a movie like that is THX approved. I wonder what The Flanneled One thought of that?

Interesting that in DVDTALK's Review section the most popular (I guess the most visited aswell) DVD review for the month of July this year is this DVD

Anita - The Shocking Account of a Young Nymphomaniac

But, the said DVD doesnt boast much of quality only the title carries a magnetizing curiosity to visitors or members of this site.

Anyways, I'd rather recommend this DVD, Thriller: A Cruel Picture which is also starred by the same actress who played the role of Anita in Anita - The Shocking Account of a Young Nymphomaniac and that is Christina Lindberg

I never take noticed of this thread until now. Since the title is different, I never thought that what I have was the Explicit, Uncut and Hardcore version of Thriller: They Call Her One Eye.

Whats cool is that this DVD is Limited Edition to 25,000

I think this is OOP now (with its limited run to 25,000)

I highly recommend this DVD! and its better and sexier compare to Anita.

Hmmm... I wonder why, with this cover image, it was the most clicked on DVD review on this site?

Anyway, I too have Thriller (uncut). Great movie, and better than I Spit on Your Grave (although being an ME, makes it top of it's class). I wasn't aware it was OOP or limited to only 25,000.

I'm at work and haven't pulled it off my shelf in a while; is it numbered in any way? Does anyone have a link to a pic of the edited version? I'm very limited at work to where I can visit online (an IT friend on the department hooked me up by excluding DVDTalk from blocking).

I think a lot of it is the title and text of the review too, which caused it to rank high on Google searches and the like. My review of Blood Sisters of Lesbian Sin was also one of the most popular reviews on the site too since my screencaps -- for whatever reason -- ranked near the top on Google Image search for 'lesbian'.

I wasn't going to buy Anita despite of the gorgeous cover Because I also have Thriller's LE, and the only reason I do is its limited status and that I sometimes like to watch this kind of cheezy flicks...

Well, that applies the phrase "Sex Sells"

But I guess, for those who have Thriller (The Cruel Picture)..

Would you recommend this or the Anita DVD?

Me..if asked... I would go for Thriller: A Cruel Picture it is way far explicit compare to Anita.

Nymphomaniac V.S. Thriller

Actually the Anita - The Shocking Account of a Young Nymphomaniac DVD Review in this site made me do this...

but hey if the thread title was Thriller: They Call Her One Eye Nymphomaniac or Thriller:A Cruel Nymphomaniac Picture. Im pretty sure it will receive big hits.

But heck.. for those who wonders whats inside the Anita DVD and got dimayed with the site's review.. Please do get this title

Thriller: A Cruel Picture

1. Its Unrated
2. Its Limited
3. and Christina Lindberg is younger here compare to her Anita Movie

Sex & Fury might also be a good title to pick up if you're a fan of hers. It's a Japanese "pinky violence" flick but she gets a decent amount of screen time.

And both were copied by Tarantino's Kill Bill

If I were you I would get all the Christina Lindberg titles currently in release, but I am a huge Christina fan. If you only got one though, Thriller (for my money) is it. All the other titles (Sex & Fury, Anita and Swedish Wildcats) are enjoyable. Oh, and an aside, thanks to John Wallis for name checking me in his Anita review. It was a very flattering suprise to read something and see my name mentioned. Anyway, check out the film, it's great!

Call me a perv, but it always bothers me when I watch Thriller that it's a body double doing the sex, rather than Christina.

Same here. This way these scenes look unnecessary and totally unnatural like they were edited in just to shock the audience: look, we got porn scenes in our movie!

A lot of places claim to have this title and the image pictured says Limited Edition:

Maybe I'm misremembering things, but I thought that the rare, OOP version was the one with the longer cut and a second disc. Was there such a third release, or just the two that are easy to find?

No, just the two. Both can still be easily had if you look for them.

Personally I almost want to buy the R-cut that omits the hardcore scenes, but it's also missing some footage from the eyeball scene and that's just not going to fly. I don't want to lose any of that footage.

I thought it odd, too, that the Anita review was at the top of the most popular reviews list for over a month...wonder if it will sell a good amount starting tomorrow. Any particular reason why it's been totally dropped off the top ten review list now?

The cut dvd is not the real R rated version! Since it still contains all the other footage cut from the original R rated version. Mostly it's probably just 'slow' scenes that the distributor cut to speed the film up. Since over 20+ minutes was removed from the R rated version.

So the cut disc includes the longer film, but is missing the hardcore bits, and the eyeball sequence. And the distributor purposely cut out the eyeball bit exactly as it was cut in the real R rated version despite not having to do that! My guess,is they did that,to get those who want the eyeball scene uncut,to have to purchase the uncut version even if they don't like the hardcore bites.

Now it would have been interesting if the original R rated version had been included as an alternative viewing option. Just to see how the film was presented originally in the U.S. But rights issues may have something to do with that.

Yes, it may be in stock to most retailers/e-tailers and its a good thing while its reachable. But I think with its limited production run of 25,000 I highly doubt if Synapse will keep on producing above 25,000.

Thus I think its OOP from the DVD reproduction standpoint
