Wow, I'm very surprised people are buying the 2-disc from you guys on ebay for that much. $40 is crazy!

Especially when you can get the region 2 3-disc collector's edition for less than $15 shipped.

Not anymore. CH no longer carries Wizard of Oz.

Just saw the copy of the 3 disc SE I got for my mom last christmas sitting on her dvd shelf unopened. Maybe I should grab it and sell it.

I'm seeing the 1999 single-disc version selling now in the $20-30 range on eBay. Is this because Wizard of Oz is currently out-of-print, or do some people prefer the uncropped chemical restoration?

It could be that - but also the fact that, to completists, this edition contains a printed guide to the audio extras (outtakes and alternate longer versions, individual stems and stereo montages) that are also found on the later edition but without the guide to make sense out of them. I admit I gave this 1999 edition to my 4-year old niece for Christmas but I selfishly kept the audio guide leaflet for myself. I'll leave her the leaflet in my will, when she is old enough to appreciate it...

I also have a new plasma TV that is so severely skewed towards blue that it easily corrects the too-red/too-yellow appearance of the digital restoration.

I still miss the uncropped image, though...
