ECW One Night Stand DVD is edited

from http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/ne...?news_id=11970

Can you believe that they censored ECW?

Here is some information of the ECW One Night Stand DVD, courtesy of Jeremy Hirsch:

I got the ECW ONS DVD already, here are some notes.

The Dudley's Drop the Bombshell was changed to their WWE Theme they used prior to that.

Sandman does not get his Metallica theme, instead some Generic wordless knockoff.

The Danny Doring/Roadkill segment was just plain old cut out the show. Didn't even see it on the extras.

I think Taz's theme also seemed changed.

Watching the big brawl at the end, JBL indeed did nail Meanie with a cheap shot. He was not even Focused on Bradshaw. JBL went straight up behind and after blowing off whoever tried to fight and went after Meanie.

And finally yes, They did bleep out the F***k's!
This sucks! It's stuff like this that encourages piracy! The chants were a big part of the show! And the Sandman's entrance was one of the best ever!

That sucks because Sandman's entrance was one of the best parts of the show. Now they'll probably play some crapy music that nobody likes. Why is Metallica so gready?

I thought all the ECW guys in current WWE used their WWE themes on the live show.

The fucks were bleeped on the live show.

It was censored on the live show.

Taking out the Sandman's entrance is a deal breaker for me. Glad I ordered the PPV when it first aired!

Any word on any extras for the DVD? I heard JBL was supposed to do commentary on it.

I just heard that the Awesome Tananka match isn't even on the dvd. Please say this isn't true. Could some one who has the dvd confirm this or deny this.

That was a production blunder on the PPV. That segment was supposed to be shown after the Sabu appereance but for some error, it was shown before and was cut quickly. I don't fault WWE for taking it out of the DVD.

Yeah, because a Metallica song being taken out ruins the entire DVD.

if you watched the ppv, or know something about ecw or the sandman, the metallica song is a big part of his entrence. also, what does the dvd do to the fans singing along to "enter sandman" and what not.
and this is from the ecw thread in sports talk

From what I've seen so far, WWE did the right thing and kept everything.

heh, there needs to be a transcript of all the crowd chants throughout the night, couple of things I missed that I just caught now.

*uggh, spoke too soon. No Enter Sandman

I'm with WWE on this one.. I'd bet they didn't even try to license "Enter The Sandman." I didn't order the PPV, but I did order the DVD. That one song would probably bump up the MSRP by 5 bucks probably (It's $24.95 now, instead of $29.95 which I'm sure they could have easily done the way it is now and nobody would have said a word). It's just not worth it for one song. I know it's "important" and would be nice to have on the DVD, but I don't think it's really that big of a deal, but that's just me.

I know all about the ECW and the Sandman, but seriously...having his entrance music changed really isn't that big of a deal.

You don't. It's an alternate.

Class316, the DVD is not "CENSORED" . It is all WWE choice.

i know, but couldn't they get someone a tad better. maybe hayman or rvd, not someone who legitimly beat up another wrestler for real and is no fan of the ecw product.

A Hayman commentary on this one would have been great, I agree!

Actually, the theme used was Sandman's *original* theme, so in reality, WWE was 1) keeping costs on the DVD down, and 2) being a little bit more true to ECW.

Well I'm just glad I have a recorded the PPV to DVD that night... Why they would lisence Metalica's Enter Sandman for the live broadcast and not the DVD makes no sense to me at all...

Taz's music live was his last ECW entrance theme, any conformation on whether it was changed or not? How about Joey's comments on "Taz with 1 Z!" I thought they might drop it due to copyright shit?

"If" they did license it for the PPV... It's a one time viewing vs. a recorded/pressed for all time release. Dollar tag diff is probably significantly different. It's all about the $$$.

It wasn't - WWE bought ECW's music library earlier this year from Harry Slash and The Slashtones.

That's why Mike Awesome, Sabu and Taz had their ECW themes for the show.

I downloaded the PPV from the net and have the DVD pre ordered. But I'm thinking if I should cancel the order.

I'm keeping mine... if you told me that they took out Sandman completely and put someone in like Mike Boyette (any UWF fans in this thread?), then I would return it. I'll just get the uncut PPV from the net and see what the big deal is all about.

I'll just blast Metallica while watching this and call it a day...
