Looks like a fine set, and certainly great to have the original in 16:9 at last, but why not include all the extras from the individual releases? Not enough space? Or maybe they chose to deliberately short this set so completists would have to buy the other discs for every last extra.

In any case, while I do enjoy the first two installments, I'm passing on this for now. Would have been more tempted had the extras been carried over in full (yes, I'm a completist), but as it is, this set isn't attractive enough. Not to me at this time.

Certified THX, TREMORS 4 is the only title to have dropped any extras (unless you count the Production Notes and Cast & Filmmakers text sections on the Collector's Edition of the original film--I don't) and, again, TREMORS 4 as a stand-alone title can still be had for cheap if you've got to have everything. I compared my old C.E. of TREMORS last night with the new 16X9 version and, oh my God, is it a MASSIVE visual improvement over the C.E., which was obviously an old LaserDisc transfer and edgy as hell...I promise it's worth the upgrade.

So is the new version of Tremors available on it's own or just in the set?

I guess I may get the set then.

I liked the first movie. (fantastic)
I never bothered with any of the sequels and doubt I every will because my unwatched queue is bursting at the seams.

$20 for a solid anamorphic transfer and a movie ticket sound good.

I haven't yet watched 3 or 4, but 2 is worth your time.

Picked it up for $14.99 today. Gonna check out the new transfers compared to my old Tremors 1 and see how much better it is. The packaging is a crappy 2 disc thin digipack which I hate. Its like the one from the Matrix 10 disc set they used. Its Craptacular.

Wow, I didn't realize that they had upgraded the first one to a 16x9 transfer. Excellent.

(I needed another King Kong ticket DVD anyway... so this fits the bill. )

2 and 3 didn't do much for me, but I thought4 was pretty good.

Man, I've had a heck of a time finding this on the shelf anywhere... tried my local Wal*Mart, BestBuy and Target.

Best Buy said they werent getting it in my area, it was online only. CC, Target, Walmart didnt have it either here. ONly saw it at Fry's and Rasputin music stores this week. Up to Tremors 3, well worth $15 thats for sure.

Ordered from Amazon w/ Prime Shipping, and shipped same day. Also, ordered the MUMMY set + you get the KING KONG tickets, which I was going to see anyway. Too bad UNI couldn't just make the Tremors set 4 discs instead of DVd-18s.

Yeah, but the grain isn't distracting or unnatural and I don't think I saw any scratches (which were already light and tiny) after the first five minutes. I was rather stunned that this B-film from 16 years ago looked this eye-popping.

They could have, but this is Universal we're talking about here.

I really like the idea of special packaging like the international "Alias Quadrilogy" and "Tremors Pack" yet, I don't really think that its practical due to the loss of shelf space they woudl cause.

Funny seeing the comments on the sequels... one poster who likes 1&2, one who likes 1&4 and then me, who likes 1 & 3... not a big fan of 2 at all and thought 4 had it's moments... So if anyone is picking up the set and hasn't seen the sequels...well, based on this census, you'll have to watch the other 3 and decide for yourself.

it's two disc with one movie on each side. when you open the case they are both packaged on one side over lapping. Picture the way the number 8 looks.

hope this helps

I enjoyed the first movie, but haven't seen the others. Worth checking it out?
