Quick update on Warner's The Polar Express. We told you about the two-disc set a couple of months ago, and now you can add a single disc movie-only edition. Also available will be The Polar Express Holiday Gift Set which will include the two-disc special edition, a limited edition Polar Express Snow Globe and a Brio wooden train. Oh, and the two-disc set will be available in either regular Amaray packaging or with a collectible rainbow-foiled sleeve cover. Retails are $28.98 for the one-disc, $29.95 for the two-disc and $45.95 for the Gift Set.
Thanks for the info. The bad news is that now the 2 disc verion and for that matter the giftset won't get discounted release week. You will find the 1 discer on sale but not the other ones (atleast that is the trend).

I'll be picking this up, I just hate how long they take to release holiday movies about a year after they leave the theater, just look at Elf and the Santa Clause 2....

Only if you buy it from Wal-Mart. The cashiers at Best Buy look normal.

A 97 cent difference between the single and double-disc releases. Why do they bother?

Damn, now I know why I couldn't find this in any video store.

I didn't think the DVD release windows were this long anymore. What a bummer.

Christmas movies have a release window of their own.

So retailers can offer a $15 discount on the single disc and only $7.50 on the 2-discer.
