Malibu Shores <--- i have the eps on VHS and was hoping it would eventually get a DVD release... epecially considering it's an aaron spelling show, i thought it would have a better chance, but i guess not.
X-Men (Animated 90s Series) <--- the random episodes on the 3 stand-alone discs with horrible artwork was a poor way to see X-Men come out on DVD. i figured they would've released the series around the time X3 went to theaters, but it never happened. what's the hold-up? i thought they'd be dying to squeeze as much money as they can out of comic-book related properties within the past couple of years, no? That's So Raven <--- guilty pleasure. i know, i know. seems like disney has something against box sets. maybe because those compilation DVDs sell well enough on their own. but why not release season sets for the older audiences (there are plenty of non-tweens who watch these shows, believe me!) that watch their programming Doug <--- preferably the Nick version, since the ABC episodes were a letdown. but i thought this was a pretty popular kids series. i know it seemed like it when i was growing up, so i'm surprised it's not on DVD in any incarnation. sad. |
Cimarron Strip - great 90 minute western that only lasted one season but had some great plots and terrific guest stars, as well as one of the best themes of any TV show ever. Stuart Whitman owns the rights and he's sitting on them, unforunately.
Thriller-the Boris Karloff anthology, a few of them have been released on VHS but no word on a DVD. Ellery Queen-also a one season wonder with Jim Hutton and lots of Murder She Wrote style guest stars. Judd for the Defense-Carl Betz, Mr. Donna Reed, as a high powered Texas attorney, another one with a great theme song. The Invaders-If Time Tunnel can make it to video, why can't this. The FBI-one of the best police procedurals ever made. Police Story-If they can release Police Woman, these are much, much better. Harry O- David Janssen's followup to the Fugitive and and a very classy private eye eye series that was a good precursor to Rockford Files. The Six Million Dollar Man/The Bionic Woman-There's got to be a tiein with the new series with these shows, hokey slo mo but lots of fun. The Defenders-The cutting edge legal issues series ever made... bonus if they release the pilot movie with Steve McQueen (ironically, they used clips from the pilot sans McQueen in an episode of the Practice last season, since Ralph Bellamy and William Shatner played the roles E.G. Marshall and Robert Reed wound up with). |

A "chat" with a rep gave the answer " our manufacturer have a right to produce our dvds" which is less than reassuring. Probably best avoided. |
I want Models Inc to come out, since Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place came out, why not Models Inc?

"The Darlings"

I was always hoping for "High Incident" with David Keith and Cole Hauser among others. I thought it was very underrated.

Interesting to bring back up this thread and see what actually did come out of all the listed shows. The thread, basically, turned into a share-the-pain-of-an-unreleased-fav, but nonetheless..
I've read the whole thread, can't guarantee that I've pulled out everything that was actualy put on DVD, since most of the shows you all listed, hmm, how do I say it... are real crap and I'd be thankful if they DONT get a release. Heh. So I've quoted only those I know about, like and/or was interested myself in.

I believe season 1 was only 18 episodes, so that would have been only 24 episodes total, which is normal for TV on DVD sets. Season 2 was short, but had some really compelling stories and I really liked the addition of Vanessa Williams as a new Detective.
