I was going to buy this but now that I know it is a flipper I will not. I'll just get one of the old versions.

It is for that reason alone that I will be keeping my Collector's Edition.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but I believe this is still 9/13, aka this Tuesday. This is according to the Universal site and I already ordered it with BB.

well let's hope you're both right and let's also hope this gets a bigger release than it's last CE release........where they barely shipped out any product to stores and were hard pressed to find a copy.....at least in Mpls.

Where is everybody? Hasn't this been out for a while? According to the DVDTalk review, it's a flipper. Hopefully not a DVD-18 like Casino. I'm sure a lot of you are pissed about this. I don't mind the cover, I have to say, it's more contrasty, like Scarface, but I miss the original red-on-black poster.

Yeah I assumed there were no problems with the flipper discs this time around? I've heard no issues yet, so I was thinking about getting it.

It's on sale this week at CC for $10. Good price for one hell of a movie.

I just rented the prequel to it (Rise To Power). It's been years since I saw Carlito's Way, so I can't remember anything about it.

Which should I watch first? The one that was actually released first or the prequel.

It looks that way. I thought it'd be yet another release but looks like they are just combining the two movies.
