Isnt there supposed to be a Carlito's Way SE DVD??? (now 25 Oct 2005)

hi people,

earlier this year I sold my copy of carlito's way in anticipation of the SE release.... but its totally died down now?! is there not going to be a SE release anymore????

cheers!

djtoell 05-31-05 07:46 PM

It came out in 2003, but is now out of print. Here's a review: http://www.dvdauthority.com/reviews.asp?ReviewID=3467

I've never even heard of a SE re-release besides the speculation their might be one to coincide with a supposed prequel being made. (is that still on?) My recommendation is to hold on to any dvd until the SE has been reviewed or is in stores.

the old dvd

the other dvd

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

it was released on 09.02.03 it was taken OOP not to long after that...it can still be had at many e-tailers
it had a making of and poster gallery...

check out

Carlito's Way:SE 9/2!!!!

where is carlito's way?

a sequel was being talked about...and a possible new SE but no news on that lately

rq42 05-31-05 08:08 PM

oh right.... so i'd say its better to wait for the sequel to come out which will surely spawn off a SE release for the original....... agreed???

cheers again!

You could be waiting a while.

Cameron 05-31-05 08:15 PM

dx23 05-31-05 10:36 PM

Cameron 05-31-05 10:45 PM

What e-tailers? I haven't seen this in stock anywhere online. At least at the stores I trust. Walmart, BB, CC, DVD Empire, Amazon

digitalfreaknyc 06-01-05 03:38 PM

There IS supposed to be a re-release btw. Can't remember where i'd read it so I'd have to find the link. This is Universal. I'm SURE they're going to re-release it, probably with a trailer and featurette for the new movie plus some "movie cash."

Filmmaker 06-01-05 03:51 PM

Yeah, good luck with e-tailers...I had to buy mine (still sealed...a man has to hav standards) from a private seller at half.com...

Cameron 06-01-05 05:52 PM

sealed copies from amazon sellers, half sellers the only B&M i still see these in is borders...for 14.99

But I think that's the non-anamorphic version of "Carlito's Way"

They almost did, and it was posted on various sites as pre-release artwork, but apparently the studio received a heavy volume of negative feedback almost immediately, so they reverted back to the original theatrical artwork before releasing the title, thank heavens...

I bought the two-pack when it first came out and it had the anamorphic "Collector's Edition".

Mr. Cinema 06-02-05 09:30 AM

I had checked on that at amazon.com and the pic they showed had the old release of it.

fryinpan1 07-15-05 05:30 AM

This sounds pretty much just like the Collector's Edition.

Ultimate Edition to be released 20 Sept 2005 -- noted at DVDAnswers.com

Egon's Ghost 07-15-05 06:37 AM

Hmmm...doesn't seem like much of an "ultimate" edition. No DePalma commentary? I'll be surprised if Pacino is in the featurettes. Those special features are meager. Oh well; I still have to have it. I hope the artwork isn't much different; the original theatrical one-sheet was great.

Skoobooz 07-15-05 08:14 AM

I don't think DePalma does commentary on any of his discs...correct?

Cameron 07-15-05 10:45 AM

good to see this one show back up on store shelves
