My first dvd was Face/Off. I got it along with my first dvd player for my birthday in October of 1998. I was the first my of my friends to get a dvd player and they were all jealous. It was cool.

These are the exact same two I bought first too. I got them a week before I got my player in early 1998. Ah, I remember the excitement coursing through my body as I played them for the first time and experienced everything DVD had to offer.

Actually, my first DVD was the Terminator 2-UE metal slipcase with the double-sided flipper disc. I bought it before I even had a stand-alone player. I bought it to try out on the first PC I had that had a DVD-ROM drive. Unfortunately, I had accidentally deleted the codec that recognized DVDs, and of course, it didn't work. So I had to take T2 back. I can't remember when this was, but it was prior to 2000, I think.

When I got my regular player in Dec. '01, the first disc that I bought on that same day was Ep. I The Phantom Menance. Soon thereafter, I ordered Star Trek: TMP-DE and the Jurassic Park Trilogy. In fact, I didn't' get my system set up for several days (it was around Christmas time), and by the time I did, I had about 10 or so DVDs, including the Mummy the Mummy Returns.

My first was Contact, purchased before I had a DVD player.

I believe that L.A. Confidential was my second.

North by Northwest (I also got two or three other titles at the same time, but I'm not sure which ones they were...I wasn't using DVD Profiler at the time!)

Techincally, the first DVD I got was "Event Horizon," because it came free with the purchase of my player in early 1999. But the entire reason I bought the player in the first place was to go and buy the "Alien Legacy Box Set," so that was my first purchase.

The first I ever received was the Matrix.

The first I ever bought, I have no idea. I know that day, I bought like 3 from one Hollywood Video and I think 6 more from another one. Summer of '03.

I know that I when I bought my first dvd player (Philips DVD405) I also bought my first dvds. The player was on sale at BJ's in Waterbury, CT and I paid $288 for it. The dvds I also purchased were Goodfellas, The Right Stuff and 2 others that names elude me at the moment. Still use the player regularly and may be one of the oldest out there.

The Beatles: Yellow Submarine in late '99 - about 3-4 months before getting a player. Watched it on the PC through the DVD-ROM drive prior to that.

My first DVD I got was The Fifth Element when Mountain Dew had those DewStuff points. I drank enough Dew to get a free DVD. It was a few months before I got my first DVD player.
