Yup, good news about the director's cut. I was going to see it at the theatre a month or two ago, but passed after I found out it was edited.

theres a dutch disc out early june which has english subtitles. also, the australian, out late june, is superbit encoded and the second disc is packed with extras : you can order it through cd-wow for £12.99 including free worldwide postage.

i hear you. never seen a perfect movie though. and thats not a cue for a discussion on 'perfect movies'... just pointing out it was always going to be no more than opinion if it was "perfect"...

I'm just saying I'd rather make a blind purchase of a movie that has generally received good reviews (like say, Appleseed) than a movie that hasn't.

I was quite disappointed in Steamboy... I thought it was unnecessarily long, and kind of boring. Of course, others might (and do) disagree.
