Spaceballs DVD audio
I just watched SPACEBALLS (the new 2-disc), and I felt the soundtrack felt a little flat. The music sounded totally different this time than it did the last time I saw it. I noticed the difference when I first used the option of watching the movie in "ludicrous speed," and then I compared the sound there to a scene in the movie. The audio levels sounded very different from each other. So if anyone has the SPACEBALLS DVD, have you encountered the same problem?

This movie was originally encoded in Dolby Stereo in the theater, and later home video. With the newly DVD special edition, there maybe some sound inconsistancies involving the new 5.1 audio transfer, compared to the previous DVD.

Which is why it is always important that the original audio mix be included
5.1 remixes don't always mean 'superior' to the original and it sucks when 'lacking' remixes are all that are released on some dvds.

They didn't include the original audio track? MGM usually puts both on there. I ended up passing on the new release, but I guess even if I get it I will have to use two DVD players to sync the sound of the old one with the better video of the new version.
