I wish that they would release Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse instead!

I'd love to get my hands on this. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan.

I think it deserves to be remastered.
Colors are clear and sharp in the lighter scenes, but tend to be slightly muddy when the film becomes darker (as it does quite often, both literally and figuratively), leading to some occasional problems seeing exactly what’s going on in scenes. However, it’s obvious that a restoration job of sorts has been undertaken; although the print isn’t blemish-free, it’s still far better than most 20-year films would look under similar conditions.

This is out here in Canada. I am almost 100% sure I saw it at the local WalMart this past weekend.

wha..?! The current MGM special edition is pretty flawless (sans DTS, which would have been a cool inclusion), why a new version?, we're talking about the Alan Parker film version, right.

Actually, it's a Columbia release. This new version sounds exactly like the old DVD, but with a fancy new digipac box. It would be a shame if they didn't spruce up the print and at least add DTS to the re-release, but it looks like they didn't.

This may be Columbia's new thing : repackaging old DVDs with new boxes. They did this recently with Little Women, Sense and Sensibility and with Easy Rider.

All the features look exactly like the current disc. The key features are word for word from the back cover of the DVD I have. Maybe this is a re-packageing of the same disc and the new set is yet to come?

oops you right, Sony Music, I flubbed up there since I had watched some of the film excerpts off of my MGM Special Edition laserdisc version last week.

So, it's just a repack!...

Ouff! I was starting to have cold sweats!!

Nice packaging !....

But since it's the same disk...I will keep my actual edition!

exactly, now if Sony Classics had some common sense and just added a DTS track, I would rebuy this at a snap.

I might still pick this up, even though it's a re-pack. There's always a good chance the extras won't make it to the new disc. I can always give the old one to a friend.

I also got the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (hamburger) re-pack because the case was pretty cool. This is what happens when you have too much disposable income
