Screw the original trilogy, I'm hoping for the original Special Edition to be released. The new Special Edition totally raped the original Special Edition, I want my original untouched Special Edition. Now......who's with me?!!

Well, that's a tough one. I like that the original SE had Sebastian Shaw as the Anakin ghost. But I like that the DVD SE cleaned up the Rancor scene. I like that the original SE had Boba Fett's original voice. But I like that the DVD SE removes Luke's scream in Bespin. I like that the original SE had the correct audio in the Death Star attack. But I like that the DVD SE has a better looking CG Jabba.

Damn it, Lucas! Just give us the original originals and make this easier for all of us.

I knew when I bought the box set there would be a hugh 8-10 disc box set once all 6 where out,but im such a SW nut I will buy any and all SW box sets,bring it on.

So there's a definition release of the films in 2007 in ADDITION to the 6 movie boxset?

HD version = 2007+, at least.

I don't see this coming out this yr. With ROTS probably hitting in Nov (and presumably Clone Wars v2)... I'd expect the boxset sometime next yr.

I'd like to see the same things everyone else does...New transfer for Ep1 (along with some updated effects w/ Yoda at the top of the list), and fixed "errors" from the recent OT release (notably the ANH audio, and saber effects)

Another thing that'd be an added bonus is braching extended editions for at least 1-4 (that would also give us the original theatricals for TPM and AOTC) We know that there's a fair amount of deleted scenes that'd be relatively easy to put back in for the prequels. Of course I personally find them too long as is, but atleast it'd be an added bonus.

The ANH Biggs scenes would need some cleaning up (who knows if they've already done this or not) and George could still say he prefers the shorter version (just like PJ for LOTR) but it'd be cool and again, give fans a little extra incentive to pick up a new set after only 2 yrs. I don't know if there's that many worthwhile scenes from ESB and ROTJ, so I really don't care if those get extended or not.

And of course an extra disc with all the deleted stuff seperated, and some new bonus features. (From SW to Jedi making of?)

Those to me seem practical and would get me excited for them. :)

I wonder if Lucas will "digitally fix" any of the pre-quels, as he did for the Original Trilogy, a.k.a. digitally removing Jar-Jar, improving dialog, etc... ;) I mean come on, if the originals needed to be "fixed" as much as they were, then the new ones need a complete overhaul lol. All joking aside, there would have to be something pretty dang special to make me purchase the first three films (not passing judgement on #3 yet) again.

As long as EpIII is released separately, I can take it. I won't hold my breath for any bonus disc or box to be available separately though (ie Jurassic Park or LOTR).

I actually waited on buying the current one in speculation of this. I know we'll never get originals but i'm sure the 6 movie set will be sweet, and i will just have to keep my laserdisc set forever.....its all good. But now i have to remember to unload the current EP1 and EP2 before the box set comes out. Probably should have done that when they were "oop" for like a month or so.

I'll probably just pick up ROTS to complete the six on DVD. Don't plan to upgrade until HD versions are available.

They said around the DVD release that they would probably re-release the set in a new format in 2007 for the 30th anniversary of A New Hope.

I'll probably pass until it's in HD if they're not changing the films further. I'm not big on extras so no need to double dip for me.

A big tag with a low price of $40 finally made me buy the trilogy set at WalMart recently.

I'm actually interested in seeing ROTS, but I'm going to have to rent AOTC, because when it came out I had absolutely no interest in it. Call it aftertaste from TPM.

If ROTS is as good as I'm thinking it could be, I hope they do release a set of the three prequel films, because there's no way I'd buy the six-pack.

It's a shame Lucas can't apply a simple litmus test to any alteration he makes on his movies. All he has to do is ask himself, does this improve the scene or does it change the scene? If it improves the scene, proceed with the alteration. If it changes a scene that originally needed no improvement, halt immediately.

Fucking bastard better not put OT deleted scenes ONLY into a 6 film box set.

That's what he has always done. You may not like his decisions, but they are his, and they are his movies. Trust, something people don't seem to do much anymore, putting trust into a director/creator is essential.

Boy, ain't that the truth. I don't know how many version of the OT I bought on VHS.

Quality wise? Yeah. I'd bet it'd be way better than Young Indy. IIRC, Young Indy was kind of the test bed for Lucasfilm and ILM for filler CGI effects within film. I'm hoping that even though that it'll take place inbetween ROTS and ANH, that there'll be at least some light saber action, being that all the Jedi have been supposedly killed off. Or maybe, there'll be some revisionism and that'll give George yet another reason to modify the OT. :D

And a word on the 100 episodes. Isn't that ironic? 100 episodes is generally what is needed for syndication rights, is it not?
