Does Flight Of The Phoenix Have Audio Issues?

I was watching the 2004 version tonight and noticed there were at least 3 different spots during the movie that had some serious sound problems. I was wondering if it was just my particular dvd or if anyone else has had the same problems. The 2 particular times I can remember off hand are

1. The scene where the sparks cause the gas expolosion, between 53:41-53:47, the sound suddenly "cuts out' like it' smuted, Dennis Quaid is talking to the female and it sounds like his microphone is off, then suddenly it gets loud when the explosino occurs and then the sound is normal.

2. Also when the corporate guy is holding a gun to Giovanni Ribi's head toward the end is very off as well. Everyone else sounds normal but the corporate guys voice is VERY LOUD, like they over dubbed his voice incorrectly.

I'm assuming its just my dvd b/c it's the same problem on all 3 of my dvd players.

I saw it in theaters, and it is supposed to completely cut out (sound wise). That way your hearing is heightened and wondering "Is the sound on?", and you're caught off guard when the loud explosion happens.

Hmm, guess to me that just seems weird cuz, Quaid is saying something to her and you hear just a mumble then BOOM, the expolsion. Guess I sort of see their point but think it's kinda worthless. I wonder about the 2nd scene, cuz there doesn't seem to be much of a reasoning for that.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago and thought it sounded fine. I have to agree with Seantn, I think it's some sort of added audio effect.

I guess it was just more obvious to me hence more annoying cuz I was RIGHT up against the t.v. during that time cuz I don't think you'd notice much unless you were up close.

No audio issues for me, but it had several plot issues.
