My backlog IS getting smaller but it's still pretty daunting. Thanks to the upgrade to DVDProfiler I can create tags for each DVD. This is how I keep track of which ones I haven't seen, or partially seen. I tag a DVD as "watched", "partially watched" or "unwatched". I can then create a list based on those tags.

Since I have the tendancy to fall asleep during ANY movie -- i would say out of my 300+ collection, i have finished less than 100 movies.... Unless my wife is there to make fun of me or hit me, I sleep through all movies in my theater....

I have 30-40 that I've never seen at all (theater, TV, or VHS) and over 100 that I haven't seen the DVD version of.

I'll never be caught up because I have at least 10 titles that I have no desire to see either because they were purchased as part of a collection (i.e. Superman IV), or it's a movie my wife wanted a copy of.

Some Most of you have more unwatched DVDs then I do total DVDs.

DVDSpot lets you keep track of when & how often you watch a DVD, including DVD's you don't actually own. This is great for us frequent renters who are geeky like that. I started really using that feature at the begining of the year and find it pretty interesting.

I do pretty much the same thing. I have an Unwatched tag (which corrolates to the actual movie or main feature), and then I have a Completed (once I finish all the features). I keep tabs of what features I've watched or need to watch in the Notes section of each disc. It took me about 2 months to put in all those notes, and now whenever I buy a new disc, I just put the notes in immediately so I don't get a backlog with that.

I should've done the same thing with the Notes but I think it's too late as I don't think I could remember which features I've checked out. Not that it would impossible, mind you... but I guess I should spend the extra time reducing my backlog... heh.

I've got about 8 season sets and about 6 films yet to watch. Its seems like a lot since I work so much and my Netflix DVDs already take enough of my time. I'm going on vacation here in a few weeks and I'm catching up totally during that time.

I probably have 100 or so in my back log. I'd probably clear out my backlog faster if I could leave my TV on DVD alone.

I have a backlog of about 30 dvds, and at least 10 tv sets i haven't dug into yet. A vacation a couple weeks ago put a bit of a dent in the backlog, mostly watched tv sets.

Man, I thought mine was out of control. I think if it had ever gotten more out of hand than what I had it at, I'd make it a point not to buy any more until I had control of the situation.

I've got a pretty good size backlog (probably around forty or so), and that is not counting TV shows I've been watching. Right now I'm going through Six Feet Under (in fact, gonna put on an episode in about fifteen minutes), and than I need to get back to The Sopranos. I kinda like having a backlog, as there is always something new for me to watch.

Same here. I actually prefer to keep that backlog. When I'm in the mood to watching something, there's always a nice selection of new titles with enough variety to satisfy whatever mood I'm in. I'm currently a little high with 29 titles, but I'll soon have that back down to my comform range.
