2010 Oop?
I saw 2010 on the OOP list. Does anyone know if there is going to be a Special Edition coming up or is this really going OOP?
The reason I ask is that I actually like this movie a lot. If it is going OOP, I want to pick up another copy to keep it in case my current one breaks or something. However, if there is going to be another edition, I'll hold off.

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
According to the list, it's only the MGM version that's going OOP. I assume the WB version will still be sold. The MGM had nicer boxart and it wasn't a snapper, though.

I got this a few months ago at BB in the $5.99 bargain rack. I hope they bring out an SE, and perhaps be a little more HONEST about whether it's anamorphic or not!

DVD Talk Special Edition
I thought the MGM version was discontinued years ago. I could never find any place selling it. Would be nice to get a new transfer and commentary. It's no 2001 but I like the performances by Lithgow and Roy Scheider as well as the space sequences with the walk to the rotating Discovery as my favorite. Fantastic to see that ship again after the mysteries of the first film.
